Recently, my instrument panel resets when i start my bike. Sometimes, it happens, sometimes, it doesn't. Time to change battery?

My voltage readings:

Ignition on: 12.3-12.4V

Idling: 14.0-14.1V

Running: 14.2-14.3V

Btw, is it easy to DIY battery replacement?

Hi Swinger's , has anyone tried Malossi's Maxi Clutch b4? Saw the actually thing at Rowell ST today, i must say it look impressive.

Not looking for performance gain, but just to eliminate the "slip clutch" issue, especially when i had to pillion or traffic jams (the slip noise came even when i ride alone some times ).

Also enroute to FJT today, was quoted near $90 for original honda clutch pads (set of 5).

I wonder if it helps by chging the clutch pads.

Your views is much appreciated :)

How abt trying something at a lower cost...

Try replacing the clutch spring instead of the clutch.

clutch slip problems high chance can rectify without the need to speed a lot of money. ask your mech to open your transmission to see how is the damage of the clutch pads and clutch bowl before deciding wat to spend on. a few of us modify & wala!!! no more slippage.

Done that bro (yellow malossi string), tried to service the clutch bowl twice, same issue occurred again after a few days. :(

alternatives like after market stuffs can be quite expensive. and wat if it doesn't solve the clutch slip prob?

suggest u to return to your mech, ask him to check for u once again. since many have solved theirs without spending a bomb on after market chuch systems, dun think why u should.

The last time I experience this, the voltage of the battery was 10.9V With that voltage I am not able to start my until I get my friend's card to jump start it.

DIY is real easy. You just need to remove the battery cover and you will be able to see the battery

Dear swinger's whose using pirelli diablo , may i ask whats the recommended kPa (or PSI ) u guys using ?

Was advised by mech 210kPa for front , 240kPa for rear.

Usually i dont really bother to checked out the actually kPa, but it seems so that my handle bar vibrates badly during low speed (40km n below).

So i went to check on the tire recommended rating, was shocked to see 260kPa front, 280kPa back.

I had them pumped up to recommended rating and the front vibration was gone.

Question, issti advisable to run them at recommended rating or slightly lower?

Was told tat running lower provides better grip. If lower, whats the recommended kPa/PSI ?

Thx in advance!

I am using the diablo, I follow the recommended tire pressure which is in front of your seat.

Vibration maybe cause by your steering cone better get a mechanic to check cause this is safety.

Hi bro , thx for yr speedy reply.

I do notice the tire pressure near the front seat, however.. diablo is not listed.

Issti still advisable to follow that rating ?

Cos after upping the kPa , the front vibration gone.

Regards.

I guess if you do not have enough pressure in your tire, your rubber will not be able to stay in position. The vibration may be due to that. Just keep to the recommended pressure.

i using front 33 PSI & rear 38 PSI. all this at cold. means the night before pump extra, next morning use personal tire pressure gauge to release air pressure.

btw its good to have your own tire pressure gauge. cos all petrol kiosk air pump not calibrated to be the same.

to each their own lor... some pp don't mind scratches on their bike, but some pp small scratch also feel like an elephant in sore eyes :D

we don't know for sure what effects the symptoms will have on the bike's electronics and certainly won't try kay-kiang to say otherwise. basically, prudence says if something is "abnormal", try to "normalise" it. if don't mind having the abnormal thingy, just live with it like you said. if made bad decision, too bad lor :p

we simply share our experiences, attempt to guess possible causes and provide suggestions/recommendations on how to get rid of the reported "abnormalities".

suggestions accepted... good; rejected also good... to each their own mah

33psi = 225Kpa

38psi = 262Kpa

Hmm... book says 200kpa and 250kpa, front and rear respectively.

I use 205 and 240, lone ranger.
