Hi bros,

Dunno if anyone has talked bout this b4, but I read the forums over at Silverwing.org regarding the clutch slippage sound and one of the causes as explained by a few forumers there is that the clutch pad has undergone glazing. A remedy would be to press the rear brake firmly and throttle the bike to 3-4k RPM for one 1 or 2 seconds. This will deglaze the clutch inside.

I tried the above method today and it works, though I rode for only awhile after that. I shall monitor tmr. Of course clutchpad will wear faster but I guess its ok for me as I only do it for 1-2seconds and I intend to do it ONLY when the pigeons return.

Any feedback about this method bros?

Yup yup.

I'll be there at 7pm ++ for dinner then Kopi at The 'CB' Club at about 7.30pm.

Need to final brief for Sat/Sun trip.

Arboh my riders later end up at Betong instead of Kuantan.

Will dropby this thursday evening :)

Btw swinger's, any shop to recommend for headlight guards? Tried motoworld , but they're left with tinted type, definitely not LTA friendly.

Got a bad scratch on my headlight by some a-hole, gotta touch up the scratch tmr :(

Hope i can find a guard to attach to it.

Thx!

i think LAB sells the even cheaper "some" brand heavy balancers :p

ps: prices may have changed

I got mine from LAB... think it was $20. It's chrome and really heavy, can feel much less handlebar vibes. It'd also v smooth so that if (touch wood) it falls on the handlebar, it does not dig into the ground

But it didn't fit at first, must go to LAB workshop and they saw off a small part of the balancer. But the sawing not very smooth and flat, so I had to file off myself in the end.

like that maybe u haven't kana a defective air pump before. be careful.

having a personal tire pressure gauge is good so that u can double check the air pressure. never compromise on safety. almost everyday i check my tire pressure before riding. at least i know my tires are in good shape. i ride with a peaceful mind.

So far the pumps in sengkang either pumps or leaks :sian: Ok la, it's working for me so far since I'm doing it every two weeks.

Very ley chey to access the tire valves every day leh...

having to saw off the base part of the balancers means they sold you the "correct brand wrong spec" item.

typical honda balancers have an extra part protruding out at the base, designed to fit into a depression at the handlebar end. the SW's handlebar end design happen not to have that depression, thus the "more fitable" ones should be suzuki typed or any that's without the protruding section.

dunno if the new SWT4/GT have different barend designs :p

those planning to buy/replace balancers may wanna take note... see below:

photos of those sold at most scooter shops and LAB

can fit: for suzuki ->http://www.motovation-accessory.com.sg/images/product/40/suzuki_small.gif

can fit: for yamahahttp://www.motovation-accessory.com.sg/images/product/44/Yamaha_small.gif

IMO...

buy things from LAB shop? ok, very competitive prices :p

do things at LAB workshop? no! workmanship is... err... errr...

maybe i was unlucky but guess there're many others who also experienced the sub-par work of their mechs. personally, i'ld rather pay a little more to get things done properly, thus the "only buy" policy :p

all things said... to each their own

if willing to pay, let technology monitor the pressures for you instead... many make n models available in the market.

for example the Doran 360M costs US$199

I realise the sw thead has a lot of IT gimmicks... very poisonous

I think the gauge will that affect the wheel balance (which unfortunately few shops can correct). Sounds easy to remove (by anyone) also leh.

Oh ya, do u guys have problems fitting two FF helmets under the seat?

I've two HJC helmets and I just cant get them to fit well, unless I press hard on the seat to close.

not all are poison... some are bugs and viruses. e.g. touring bug and makan virus are always in the air :cheeky:

aiyo, dun fix the sensors outside, fix them inside the rims under the tyres... if that desperate fella deflate and remove the tyre just to get the sensor, then bo pian liow

stock SW comes with a straight-up valve at the front and a soft angled valve at the rear tyres.

solution = change both valves to angled valves for easy access

. hard ones won't flex when we push the air-pump dispenser onto them

. think i've seen a SW with rear tyre valve inlet pointing left instead, for easier access?

there are various designs available in the market (even more choices from the net)... some higher, some lower, different materials/colors, etc.

e.g. 90 deg angle design

e.g. lower height
