Wow! So expensive. I guess now is not the time to buy any big ticket items. Everything so expensive.

Buy 2nd hand loh.

Can go test ride the one at M1 Motor with full leovince system.

Might need some normal servicing otherwise is good to go.

Ride for a while see see like it or not.

If love it, then either keep or 'upgrade' to a brand new SW-T for long time.

Hi,

Any idea how much does the new look silverwing 400 or 600 costs on the road? Thanks! :thumb:

About 16.5k to 17k without insurance for the 400.

600 price not known.

When I checked with Mah Pte last month, I was told that both models is about $18K OTR. The 600 is parallel imported while the 400 is from BS Honda.

You mean the 600 also abt the same price OTR? BS stock is SW-T400 right?

suppose like what gee said, the broquet helped improve FC by 1km/L, e.g. from 23km/L to 24km/L...

suppose rider clocks an average of 400km/week...

suppose rider use exxonmobil 95UL at $1.907/L after discount (http://petrolwatch.com.sg/)

at 23km/L, fuel used = 400km/23 = 17.39L/week

at 24km/L, fuel used = 400km/24 = 16.67L/week

savings = L17.39-16.67L = 0.72L or about $1.37/week

so how long will it take before there are savings?

(a) if gee is using the broquet 5T that costs $135, break even = $135/$1.37 = 98.54 weeks

i.e. it'll take about 1 year 10 months to break even

(b) if gee using the broquet 8T that costs $210, break even = $210/$1.37 = 153.29 weeks

i.e. it'll take about 2 years 11 months to break even

so is the brouquet still worth buying? you think :cheeky:

but if its to improve performance like what kmkoon says, that's a different story :p

That is what I was told by the Big Boss himself. Yes, the 400 is production from BS while the 600 is parallel imported by Mah but they can't confirm when the 600 will be in.

as the engine gets ages, efficiency drops and FC climbs... mainly due to wear-n-tear, impurities accumulated inside, out of tune/synchronisation, etc.

other than getting the mech to work on it, some easily DIY-able stuffs could be:

* check/clean/change sparkies (try Denso IUH24)

* check/change air filter (can try K&N)

* clean FI using "cleaning agents" like FP60, STP FI cleaners or fuel system cleaners, etc

* synchronise air-screws and adjust fuel-air mix

* check tyre pressure/wear

* adjust wrist power :lol:

I think it depends how dry you run the bike until, ie your meaning of full tank. For me, around 280km I top up. Usually less than 12litres, so if you convert to 16litres, the numbers are more of less there. Your 320km is push bike already?

Broquet has a recommended mileage but I remember it's a really big number to be of concern to most people. Like scooby mentioned, it will take a while to recover your investments (if any).

Add on to Chairman

sometimes it can be the transmission system that is aging causing higher FC

* Regular cleaning of the transmission compartment can prolong the running hours and lower FC

* Replace the clutch shoe and bowl if necessary. Uneven wear from clutch assembly reduces the efficiency of engine power to the rear wear indirectly contributing to higher FC.

:):)

FYI, i used to get 25km/L regularly but FC has already dropped to 23+~24km/L for local riding and 21+km/L on "leisurely" tours... still happy considering that it runs a 4+ years old engine :thumb:

Is near push bike .... so far 320KM is the most i dare to try.... i oso usually top up around 280km when the last bar is flashing... cos i refer technical corner, knew tat when fuel indicator hit the last bar n start flashing, still can go around 2-3L. Let say 1L = 20km x 3 = 60km, so this is the remaining i still can go mah..... so i juz try another 40km till 320km, then faster go find petrol station liao.... :p

My bad habit is everytime i pump petrol... only c the price, din even check how many litre i pump..... haha

Wah piangz empty my SWING tank just now, opposite punggol park. Had to push the 200++Kg beast up the hill and head for the petrol kiosk. Guess who I met on the road? Our ex-SWING member HelmetBox. Just zip past me.

Continue pushing until I reached Esso kiosk at Sengkang. Fortunately I wasn't in my bunny suit, if not I don't think I am able to do any posting now.

Top up 15.9 liters

Mileage 388.1Km

FO: 388.1/15.9 = 24.4km/l

Time to rest and recover

Anyway the best I've done so far is run until dry and hit 388KM

I don't think I will ever try testing my FC to this extreme.

Sibei siong to push this beast up the slope.

Blink at 280km not bad mah.

Normally blinking = 12L used. Balance about 4L.

FC should be 23km/L+ liao and full tank = 370km.

Therefore, pump petrol at 320km is just nice with 40-50km spare.

Our riding trip normally max interval at 200km.

SW confirmed super no problem for that range. I did a non-stop 320km before... butt sore, eyes blurr.

Just remember to balance near 2L in the tank arboh will overheat/damaged the pump. *Some ppl says.

Everybody MUST know their bike range. This will avoid problems when going on long riding trips.

Mine is:

Normal ride (100km/h) - blink at 300km or max at 400km.

Tour (130km/h) - blink at 260km or max at 350km.

From past experience (no pillion):

100km/h and below = 25km/L

110km/h = 24km/L

120km/h = 23km/L

130km/h = 22km/L

140km/h = 20km/L *FC drop more from this speed.

150km/h = 18km/L and below.

so our garment is quite considerate for our pockets to put the speed limit at 90km/h + 10km/h for overtaking :lol:
