how come $100 :confused:

local towing is usually abt $30~$40, the remaining were paid for?

a new honda spec battery for SW costs abt $120+~$150 (depending on YTZ12S or 14S), unless if you get the small capacity YTX9BS which costs abt $70+ (can fit SW).

Hi guys:) I almost done 1000km liao... so itz consider running in complete? LOL! Cos the honda service card state first change is 800km den follow by 4000km its lik ?____? hahaha But i change at 500km so now i reaching 1000km liao shuld i change to fully syn oil? or continue run in? n change to mineral oil still?

Posted

almost 1000km, means almost complete... means ALMOST :lol:

kidding :p

if you're not those who whack the bike like no tomolo but ride smoothly within speed limits in sinkapor with occasional "overtaking manoeuvres", can end run-in and change to full synthetic eo liow :angel:

do follow the owners' manual recommended grade 10w40 eo, brand up to individual but recommend you try maxima extra 10w40, costs $21~$24 /bott including labor. many of us are using that for years and satisfied with it. however, i'm going to try amsoil 10w40 for the next change... just wanna try something different.

Steel Brake Hoses - this need to be customized, you wun find ready stock can fit it properly, also need mechanic skill for install. Some of us have installed it, but you have to get use the brake, otherwise it will quite dangerous. Tat y Chairman is not recommended to you :p

Headlight protector shield - no ready stock in SIN, but chairman got one uncollected on hand :p

Lowering of fork -Try hyper pro spring if you have budget. Costs btw $280-$300 with installation, you can try Unique see got ready stock bo? Otherwise you can place order with Motoworld, waiting time btw 1-3mths, depend on shipment but you wun regret. :)

For all my new SW, I only felt the smoothness after 2500km +/- even with synthetic EO.

Top speed... do it progressively ahh. Too much vibration too early and you won't know what's gonna happen.

SW9000 so i shuld change to fully syn oil n continue run in speed ( Below 5k rpm ) till at least 2500km? hahhaa sori i too noob

Can change to synthetic EO earlier if you like. No hard rule on this.

My take is... continue with the cheap EO for your 1000km service then change to synthetic at 2000km or 2500km. After that, change as per normal after every 5k or as you wish.

Btw, 5k rpm running-in speed is for 1st 1000km only. After that can slowly increase (100/km/h, 120, 130...) to full throttle by 2500km and above.

** I only tried full at 5k+.

other than the "biting" rpm which may be changed by using clutch springs of different stiffness (stiffer springs require higher rpm), the throttle "response" may also be varied via:

* adjusting the amount of slack in the throttle cable (recommended to have a slight slack instead of fully taught)

* use of lighter/heavier rollers (24g vs 28g)

* adjust air screw to desired fuel-air ratio (vacuum level, balanced or staggered)

* use of capacitor based products such as PA2/auto, PA ignite, revtec, etc.

* change to 3rd party variator or/and clutch assembly

* engine oil of different weight/formula (for local riding, the most shiok i've tried so far is Liqui Moly)

* sparkplugs

* not forgetting... petrol & additives used

* many others... but some give marginal difference

liqui moly 10w50 (although w50, it feels very light), 10w40 is semi synth
