Back from land of thousand smiles... August going again. hehe.

Today I happen to saw one silverwing at the custom. 1 thing that surprised me other then his both coloured compartment covers and the super long windshield was his rear tire..

His tire looks exactly similar to a car tire shape.. Which was literally a square shape tire!

Wondering how can he corner with that tire.. Lol

SX240 looks better on specs as a camera. 25mm good for indoors while 500mm tele very good for long shots (with tripod); good range as a travel camera. However both don't have hotshoe, and I feel an external flash is essential.

 

If I had to choose, the SX but I will most probably end up with only my camera phone, and enjoy the scenery and company rather than busy snapping / videoing

Hmm... not sure if the bulkiness and the irritating pop-up flash is worth the extra zoom and weight?

that's called the "darkside" ... quite common in US but not as much here.

i was about to try it until the big question of passing inspection pulled me back

U could consider the Panasonic FZ150 too. Its quite nice.. Tested at shop b4.. Im a Panny fan when it comes to these point n shoot.

That's not good to hear... I have yet to let him do my fork anf steering bearing.

I think not a good idea:

 

A. Air filter must be able to filter down to 10 micron. A human hair is 50 micron. To achieve that, commercial filters have 4 to 6 layers of filters compressed together. Looking at the DIY sponge, can even see the holes. Also, gaps at the sides will even be bigger.

 

B. Commercial / original filters are folded to have a bigger surface area to maintain high air flow despite the small filter holes. I think if you unfold, it's probably 3 times the length at least.

 

C. Also need to apply filter oil.

The ZS30 or ZS25 looks more reasonable.

FZ150... carry too long will get injury.
