Look for SW9000 for item (2). Item (1) rare, probably need to order local or overseas.

Guys ... I seriously feel SW have fault in design now ...

Today ... Was told my magneto damaged ... ...

You can claim warranty?

How long since the last change?

2L of EO may not be good enough to manage heat in SG?

Or like me... suspecting it was the choice of EO that could not do the job properly?

Otherwise, must be the design of the magneto itself. Too sensitive towards minor fault?

Well, should explore whether possible to do coil re-wrap or not. Economical?

Aiyo... Why you keep thinking is the heat that kills the coil....?

pH level may also be the culprit

This is the 2 years old bike. So too bad, have to pay. Dont mind one off, but it seem so common in Silverwing ...

Uncle, you got clue ?

We learn to do coil together over the weekly meet ? hahaha ...

Any aftermarket recommendation ? Could be engine cool as well, need to check with woolala on what type he was using.

Aiyo, how do we know what ph level is for all the types of EO that we are using?

Assuming Maxima has a ph level that affects the coil, then what other EO is recommended?

I think need to analyse the spoilt coil to look for clues. I tend to believe insufficient or old EO may cause coil problems due to over-heating. But don't have scientific proof on this. Is this your first coil issue?

Today, something weird happened to my bike. When turn on, voltage was 12.6v normal. After start, became garbage. Stop and retry 2 more times with same issue. Move off and everything back to 14.4v. Hope it's good brothers having fun.

If it's pH, it's easy to test. But what's the relationship?

Get DCT if gears are weird lo.

DCT models from BS are by orders. 2-3 months lead time. Heard that Asphoon might have some though.

Only DCT model available right now is the Integra. ard 21k otr, blue and white available.

Giving this bike a serious thought...

Price fix my budget..

Plus point for NC700X to me are as follows:

1. ABS (current max is non-abs)

2. Feel Comsumption (way better the my max)

3. New bike.. no need to go inspection.. hahaha..

Can't part my max to me as follows:

1. can straighten my leg with riding

2. wind protection (shoes won't get wet so easier)

3. Bigger storage

4. no need to spend money on accessories.. since i have already spent... haha

imo, you reasons for NC700X are not strong enough.

If it's pH, it's easy to test. But what's the relationship?

Naturally mineral oil has a lower pH level but to use lubricants has to be made alkaline which is higher pH level.

The reason EO needs to be alkaline is because of the by product of incomplete combustion of petrol. As we know, the petrol engine are not self ignited unlike diesel engine. The downside of petrol engine is incomplete combustion. Sometimes incomplete combustion create nitrogen oxide, traces of Sulphur dioxide and many other chemicals (can't remember all the rest liao). Again as we know, the pistol ring are not 100% sealed therefore some of this chemicals leak to the crank case. When the EO is alkaline, it will neutralise the acid which increase the lifespan of the journal bearings and seals. Acid will also cause deterioration of the insulation in the dynamo (magnet coil). Ifthe insulation breaks down, a short circuit will occur.

If anyone wants to test the pH level of the EO, the oil has to be distillate and water has to be remove.

Paiseh pardon my PSLE ang mo, I tried to recall the oil sampling test during my old NahVi days.

We need the full ph reading for all the EO thus can make informed decision on usage.

Where to test ph level?

Need sponsorship of different types of EO?

My O level chem only says use pH paper or solution. Need to distill is tough already. But if it's a taken that EO needs to be alkaline, wouldn't billion dollar oil companies already know? Following the reasoning, the solution is to change EO before they turn acidic in the crankcase?

I can provide Amsoil and my trusty Carlube that I have been using over 2 years.

The billion dollar oil companies know the oil needs to be alkaline that's why all EO are alkaline but.... the challenge is how long can they stay alkaline in the engine crankcase...? We can't fault them for EO turning acidic too early. Engine fuel air mapping contributes to the by product.

If anyone interested to conduct test, the results from the test can only tell you which EO is suitable for your machine. O ya meaning it should be done on used oil.
