Might be a faulty brake switch. Have u tried the other side?

there're 2x switches in the left handlebar signal assembly; the brake light switch, and limit switch (to enable electric starter).

unlike the brake light switch where it is activated when you depress the brake level lightly, the limit switch is activated only when you depress the brake level hard/deep enough (you should hear a click sound when limit switch is activated).

this is a safety feature to make sure the brakes are properly engaged before allowing the engine to start.

from the manual:

The starter motor can turn with the following conditions:

- Ignition switch ON

- Engine stop switch in RUN

- Rear brake lever fully squeezed

- Sidestand retracted

- Starter switch pushed

notes:

* SW has HISS, so a correctly programmed key is required before engine may start. btw, BS mechs ever recommended that programmed keys should not be placed together with big bundles of other keys, or risk the microchip becoming defective. personally, i have kept my bike key separate from my main bundle, kiasi approach :p

* some owners have disabled the sidestand switch so that the engine may be started when SW is on sidestand. IMO, not recommended to remove this safety feature.

yes, the pillion get's quite some ventilation while on the move... many scooters are designed like that :p

Start bike only left side.

Got a click sound.

If old bike... then possibly the connection worn out liao or dirty.

Can clean or worst case, replace that component. I forgot how much... but not expensive.

hi SW bros;

In Aug 2015, my ride due for renewal of COE. its mileage is about 75k and probably under use I think. It is always under the bike cover & shelter under the void deck and therefore the paintwork is good as new.

do you think I should extend the COE or sell it off for a decent price?
