Was having very high fuel consumption. Sent in for the 11K miles major servicing. Bought the rollers, V Belt etc. Then only realised that the 2009 does not used rubber belting. The outer chain was super loose while the inner chain was super tight. Now need to exchange the belting and get the 2 drive chains. 1 question here .... Do I need the rollers since its not rubber belting. I am not mechanically inclined so any inputs appreciated.

Still using belt. While the final drive is chain. I believe your mech got no experience with Tmax

Helmetbox is right. All out tmax still use belt. It's somewhere in front of the pillion foot peg on the right. The 2 chain that you saw is the final drive which properly can last very long (they didn't say anything in the manual but only say check for wear and change as needed). Better send to a mech who know tmax better. He might have thought ours are like every other scooter who's belt are always at the left rear of the bike. And hopefully he change the casket after he open up the chain drive cause it may leak.

Btw anyone notice some noise at the belt area. Its not really loud and sounds like metal part rubbing lightly. Didn't hear until now hopefully it's normal.

Ok. Will get my mechanic to check the right side. Like I said, the outer chain is loose while the inner one is jam tight. Is this normal.

You changed all these at the 11k mark? That's a short lifespan especially for the belt.

18gm for stock... 15gm and 16.5gm for race version... Limited version 12.5gm... I tried the 18gm and it was quite fast Liao...:)

Yup, 11000miles. Manual says I think at 12K mls or 20K km. The Max will be 2 years old in Mar this year.

Personally, I feel that when it comes to general maintenance and parts replacement, the Max is more expensive to maintain then my previous GL1800.
