As for me, i will try to stick to stock parts as much as possible.. :) I have this thinking.. the more i change, the more problems i will have later..:cheeky:

Other than the battery.. i might just change the rider backrest if i can find 1 that i like..

11.7V is before cranking.. after the bike starts its around 14V.. should be normal... just worried with my usage (10mins to work & 10mins back), there is not enough time to charge the battery..

hmmm should be still oklah, but then again with scooters there is no way to push start once the battery kaput.

N then its a long way to walk when that happens. So if u have the moolah, go ahead of course. BTW the shorai batt 21AH sounds huge man, like a car battery. Maybe this will be just nice: http://shoraipower.com/lfx14a4-bs12-p70

Regarding aftermarket parts, yeah u are quite right, well anyway i was doing some maintainance when i took out the air filter

n it just crumbles in my hand.... hmmmm damn high time i replace the air filter. Since now the old air filter cannot be put back inside, i rode to KS motor without it. It feels responsive but it also makes the bike stall when u idle at traffic lights. I was thinking if the KnN or BMC air filters goes in, rejetting or remmapping surely need to be done and it will be a damn complicated process.

So best just get the stock air filter n fit in. After that the bike runs just fine no probs

The batt that u suggested is physically smaller than the stock.. have to add some padding to make up the space.. What other brands are there?

I wonder its it really a must to do remapping for just an air filter change? Usually only necessary when changing to full system exhaust.. If thats the case better stick to stock..

Anyway where is ks motor?

Did you get it from cypher(if i'm not wrong)? I was using the same ones on my cb400.. it was better than the stock as it charges quickly and discharges slowly.. perfect for my usage pattern.. but i think i was only using 6.8AH types whereas the stock was 8Ah..

For the shorai, it is 21Ah.. higher than 650 stock 14Ah... I think it would be wiser to go higher since the 650 have heater, electronic screen n mirrors, light under the seat etc

Anyway.. r u riding the new 650 also?

Yup cypher's. The FAQ is in his CMO thread, can check it out.

The 650 has a 500w alternator, sufficient for running the heater w/on draining the batt. The rest are not constantly on while on the move.

Read that the 2013 650 has an upgraded alternator, but can't find that read now

Just got my burgie.

Oh yeah, its smaller but that's the point for LiFEpo4 batteries cos race bikes can save weight when using them but still get enough or more power than stock. If i'm not mistaken they provide paddings for the extra space. Not so sure but saw it somewhere. Anyway just suggesting n it is cheaper too hehehe.

KS motor is suzuki spare parts dealer 127 Jalan besar, very helpful and friendly old man who runs it with a nice lady.

Just get the part num u want and he will search it for u n tell u the price.

I always get spares from them. U can get from Guan Hoe but compared to KS, its more expensive.

Need to remapp or rejet depends totally dependant on the bike itself, cos after running in not all engines are the same, especially after many years of use. So mine probably needs to but yours maybe could just fit n play. I've read discussions that some ppl do n some ppl don't. So i stick to stock and anyway its just 20bux.

Darn miss out the asp deal due to dallying. OEM box n rack? remember to post a PIC n write up.

Love the handling on the BM but burgie is bike that sets me on the scooter path so I thought might as well fulfill the dream.

Don't worry been doing this switch mod for 7 yrs now and yet to meet that gundu. Anyway the handbrake is probably on most of the time.

Next up will be the seat actuator, h/light on-off n magic blinkers mod.

The seat opening with the key is very fragile. That'll be the first thing to go in the 650. Replacement is $$. So the seat actuator is a button that you press and the seat catch is released. With the right hydraulics, the seat can lift up after button is depressed. Emergency eject.

Hi Guys, anyone of you guys riding an Burgman 650 2013??

How was the review?

Me n Maiker are the only ones in the forum that rides the burg 650 2013..

My milage now around 1800km.. simple review..

Pros:

Comfy for rider n passenger

Smooth n quite

low seat

lots of leg room

big storage

Quite nimble despite size

foldable mirrors

low maintenance

Nice design

Cons:

Heavy to push around and to get off the mainstand.

Fuel consumption can be as high as 15km/l depending on riding style n condition (lowest seen 24km/l)

small tank 15L

Not many shops that can competently service this bike.

Also see this video here.. there is some sprint test at the later parts (650 lost to bm c650gt )

Frankly i don't use the semi auto n power function.. the default auto is good enough for me.. I'm 1.68m and its just nice.. the bm was too high for me.. I bought the last unit at guan hoe lol.. Maiker bought his from looi's.. not sure if they still have it..
