Are TaiHin experts in installing? Recommendation?

What is your max km/l mileage you guys have achieved? With sliders or not?

like what joey_sfb suggested, BHH is a good source with competitive prices. i got mine from gpscity 5-6yrs back.

Alternatively, there are "chiong" ones in carousel.

Do note that RAM Mount products although pricey, carries lifetime warranty. Personally i have claim once for a broken cradle and its really no questions asked on their side; submit photos of defect/damage, pay for shipping and item arrives.

Another phone mount of interest will be https://taiwanbigscootershop.com/products/suzuki-burgman-650-mobile-phone-holder-multi-function-integrated-syst

Another person most willing to help is https://www.facebook.com/guess.burgman650/

Attached pic of my setup.

I used to ride CB400 Ver S but now Silver Wing 400 that i got Feb this year. I have always been interested in Burgman 650 but very scare of the dealership in SG. Email them no response. When i email Boon Siew, they did reply. This give me more assurance that why I get from them. Anyway, I think my SW is their last piece. If i want to buy a new Maxi Scooter it will be Burgman 400/650.

no need to waste time emailling.

Pay a personal visit. Automotive business locally still very old skool.

Many things happen via direct liasing. Not to mention special deal and whatnots.

I know I sold my CB400 to southern. Still the same shop, same aunties... still need to keep my IC for transfer... Just like i buy my first bike from them over a decade ago.

Anyway, I go with Boon Siew as they are more hassle free. With one year free maintenance and servicing log card. I just need to look for them at fix interval.

I especially like their Sales Brian, a person that is polite, keep me up to date and no bad surprises.

What bike are you riding now, Mr Biker?

People ask me, "Why ride bike?" I ask them back :"Why drive car?"

Bro, there is no high or low class bikes, only bikes you like or do not like.

I am currently riding my 9-month-old Burgman 650, still enjoying it while waiting for the new model (hopefully autoTx) Goldwing to be developed/launched ........

There is a last unit of current model Goldwing (as claimed by one bike shop) which has a very attractive price tag at pre-ARF, the reason he gave discount was the new model is coming in next year, according to him, but bike must registered before mid-Aug this year as he is using the COE in Feb to avoid the new-tiered ARF, which will be about S$13.5k higher! :giddy:

People ask me, "Why ride bike?" I ask them back :"Why drive car?"

Good morning Keynes, All the best to your collection of Goldwing in the near future.

Myself. I am a bad lover. I tend to switch bikes so regularly, if bikes were human, I would surely be cursed. But coming to age, I may soon change my ways.

But I am the type of person who believes that in Singapore, many bikes are really well taken care of. Many in the bike shops which are around 3 to 4yrs old are still in perfect condition.

i am not a great fan of our LTA policy and thus I would never buy brand new big bikes.

Being a mid sized person, when I had the Burg 650 exe 4 years ago, I really enjoyed the ride. I had one offer from a guy who wanted to buy my scoot more than $1k than what I paid for. I decided against it but sold to another buyer a few months later.

I sold the Burg after holding on to it for 1 year.

Next year , I am on the lookout for another scoot. My radar will be silverwing , burg or something else which I will use for the occasional Malaysia trip but I will also need another bike for ferrying me to work.

Good morning Mr Biker.

Since I have the experience to own a burgman 650 exec (K6 model) from 2008 to Sep 2016 (8 years), I thought it might be good to share the reliability of this machine. I must state first that this is the k6 model, the current model should be more reliable. I hope this info is useful for bro/sis who are looking for this bike model. Others may have different experience.

I am a careful user covering about 15,000 km per year.

The repair costs are close estimates and I exclude servicings, changing of batteries brakes and tyres which are wear and tear items.

Bought at $14,700 (11 mth old at 20,000 km).

Case no./age of bike/ type of breakdown/type of repair/cost of repair/down time

Case 1 / 2.5 years / radiator leak / repair / $100 / 2 days

Case 2 / 5 years / seat support cannot hold / replace / $220 / 1 hour

Case 3 / 6 years / alternator failed / replace / $680 / 2 days

Case 4 / 6 years / front wheel bearing failed / replace / $50 / 1 hour

Case 5 / 6.5 years / starter motor failed / replace carbon brushes only / $120 / 4 hours

Case 6 / 7 years / rear wheel bearing failed / replace / $50 / 1 hour

Case 7 / 7.5 years / starter motor failed again / replace / $750 / 2 days

Case 8 / 8 years / dashboard light gone / replace bulbs / $20 / 2 hours

Case 9 / 8 years / ignition switch failed / replace with used one / $80 / 3 hours

Case 10 / 8 years / radiator hose burst / replace / $250 / 2 hours

Case 11 /8.5 years / ignition switch failed again / bypass ignition / $80 / 2 hours

Case 12 / radiator leaked again / repair again / $100 / 1 day

I traded in for $1800 (9 years old) last year for a new 650 exec.

If you were to ask me, is 650 exec reliable, I would say yes, but not in the same league as Honda bikes. Moreover, 650 parts are ex, look at cases 3 and 7.

People ask me, "Why ride bike?" I ask them back :"Why drive car?"
