collecting my x1-r this saturday.(my first brand new bike after riding for 4 years)

any of you guys wanna share how you do your engine run-in?

does the typical "don't go over 70km/hr" instruction still apply? opinions greatly appreciated, and glad to join the x1-r club. :)

Dont go over 90 to often stick to 80 Change your EO once u hit 800 change to motul 15 50 GOLD use it till about like 1500km, after that u can slowly try try till 140(stock max)

Dont need scare small size or what, my friend smaller size than me also riding GSXR 600, fyi some 600cc the ride height is higher than 1000cc. That's what i feel. Im saving up for a 09 R1 though, with Leo Vince FS, damn thunder the sound.

My GPR also can be heard when my house is on the 12th floor. But dont always blow, people not happy all they need is a finger to tip your bike and fall. Yea, ******** do exist.

So far i know X1-R can use R1/R6 stock brake pump. I guess any more aftermarket would be overkill already.

1) We are not bike shops, and the prices varies to each bike shop so i recommend you to call or visit the bike shops and ask them about it.

2) 5k should be sufficient for a second hand one.

3) Ah Boy is located at Kelatan Lane. You can go google earth it.

Peace all, taking off my P-plate soon..

wah james still got one more month leh don so anxious la hahaha.

for my run-in,

gear1 1-20km/h

gear2 21-40km/h

gear3 41-60km/h

gear4 61-80km/h

i nv go past 80km/h.. for abt 1000km..

after 1kkm..go change eo, oil filter then just ride bike as per normal

Actually for me the moment i start riding my 1st hand x1r i already start whacking the bike..

but for proper running.. i think zhiyuan advise is gd enough..

or u can read the manual booklet when u get ur new bike..

theres instructions at the booklet for basic maintanace too..

u may wanna try my horn...my horn will stun mi at times.

PIAA 600Hz well tuned is veri loud.

i'm using the same horn. the sound is sharp & loud.

Anyone here who changed their pipes did any setting on your bike ?

did tuning but i dunno what my mech tune cuz i left the bike there and i went for work.

OR BETTER STILL GO UNIQUE MOTORSPORT AND ASK THEM DO BACKFIRE TUNING-LOOK FOR THE BIG SIZE GUY WITH GOLDEN HAIR-

MY WAVE AND TWO OTHER FRIENDS BIKE DID-

X1-R WITH GPR-

SPARK WITH YOSHIMURA-

EACH TIME U ENGINE BRAKE REGARDLESS THE GEAR WILL SURE "POOOOOOM!!!!!":cheeky:

:thumb:

actually backfire = waste petrol. although not much, but it is still wasting. :cheeky:

5k is ok if u buying a old bike, not x1-r

5k can buy X1-R. 2nd hand. price of X1-R drop till not much value cuz too many people come out with new X1-R.

R6 is higher than R1. but for suzuki, both 600 & 1000 have the same seat height.

i'm using chiong china brembo pump. still ok, better than stock. changing to r6 master pump soon.

i also can't flat foot my x1r..

suzuki is good choice.. the seat height lowest among honda and yamaha.

your hid is below 3k? how many lumens ah?

sian lor. i thought of buying 6.5k one...

sian suddenly got problem. dunno is dirty petrol/carb or what..

yamaha has the highest seat height, followed by honda, then kawasaki, then suzuki. apparently ducati 848 is higher than 1198

my HID is 6k. actually 6k is good enough. pure white.

i think is normal. cuz sometimes when low rpm, i open throttle suddenly, the bike will also jerk. maybe it's because in low rpm which result in wrong gear, so when u open throttle fast the bike will jerk.

Heard from somewhere that front plate cannot sticker must put metal plate for inspection??

supposedly is cannot. but they close 1 eye. i passed my inspection with the front sticker number plate.

Because they use other bike side stand n wield, like me i m using 125z side stand.

Original footrest is wielded together with side stand, i wan to keep it like this so i go buy 1 125z side stand.
