exhaust can tune one meh? mine telling why you want to tune ur exhaust bro?

tuning in the sense of syncing the exhaust with the bike to make the bike run smoother. it's just like playing a guitar. everytime b4 u start to play, need to tune the individual strings so that the sound produces the correct note. same theory for our bike just that only need to tune once

i beg to differ. tuning increases the smoothness of the bike which in turn releasing the potential of the power. tuning helps the bike to make use of the power with much lower FC compared to non-tune bikes. it also reduces problems like back firing. well, just my 2 cents.

cos x1r front very light.. so at high speeds the bike tends to "lean" backwards making the bike even lighter at the front.. u stay at that speed longer and lean ur body back somemore, then u can pull a high speed wheelie liao.. hehe!

yupp! i happily left this portion out because koyote is racer mah.. haha.. so i give him the racer point of view.. hahahah! :shy:

but yea what u say is true nonetheless.. tuning enables the bike to reach maximum potential with minimal effort to avoid overstressing the engine and parts..

Just bring to the mechanic that you always do your bike, they understand your bike at least then other shops..

Tuning on the Carb is only needed when you feel that after installing your pipe, you feel lagging or some discomfort when you riding . Other then that, I don't think you need to tune your carb, i guess it will affect your FC if you do it with no reason ...

NTUC insurance is quite ex.

i got mine from AXA. u shld check and compare before u commit. insurance getting very expensive business nowadays!

anyway guys! ive purchased my X1R.

thanks to all those who helped in my search

basically stock. with box.

am thinking of upgrading a few parts (itchy alreadY) but am stopping myself cause i used to own a KTM and mod like a mad man in the end also no pt.

hahaha

but i think in a few words the X1R is a very good bike but the braking needs to improve

if i do it fully in SG how much will it cost.

replace both front and back discs to bigger discs, 4 pot front, replace frnt master pump (2nd hard r6 hard to find. other options?), and HEL brakelines.

how much will the whole set up cost?

oh yeah and one more thing, anyone got alarm system on their bike?

any recommendations? 2 way or 1 way? brand? price?

i was looking through SPY 2 way @168/-

but very old MO thread.

anyone tried SPY?

pls let me know.

some things need to get soon :)

thanks guys

hmmmm , recently i realise when i travel at bout 100kmph my RIGHT footrest and my pillion RIGHT footrest also vibrate more violently. like the faster i go the more vicious the vibration becomes. is it common ? or is my pipe installed not tight enought? cause i keep getting the feeling its loosely fitted, i fitted my pipe at the shop i bought my bike from and the mech like not that good liddat -.-

I got my insurance from NTUC when i just got my license 2 years ago, it was freaking scary at 1.9K!

I am using a spy alarm, for small bike, 1 way will do. actually the alarm doesnt help much in anything in Singapore.. I can say.

This one i think u have to get advice from your mechanic liao, thou i face vibration from my bike and i always get numb thighs, but still not too bad and is normal to have it (imagine you having a Vespa LX 150, when idling the vibration is x10, you will get super high).

u can try replacing HEL brakelines 1st to try the braking power. if it's not good enough, try changing to racing boy 4 pot caliper. from what i know, changing oversize disc doesnt make any difference in braking. it's just for looking nice. master pump i not very sure what to recommend cuz i'm currently using the r6 OEM master pump
