GUYS PLS HELP!

ytd i went to this shop in bukit batok to get my horn changed. my old horn was a dual air horn and the electric wiring inside the bike is kinda messy. i replaced it with a stock electric horn. towards the end of the fixing, i saw the mechanic taking out my fuse and later putting it back again. after the fixing i rode home without a problem.

today, i start my bike again, no problem at first, but after 5mins of riding it broke down. There is no neutral lights on my bike when the switch is on, so i check my fuse. it was blown. i got a spare fuse with me and i try plucking it into the socket. but there is a spark created when i insert it into the socket. i tried starting my bike again but it doesnt work. took out my new fuse and found out that it is blown again !

guys pls help!! is it because the battery is engage that caused the fuse to blow again ? or is it a way to inserted the fuse ? or is my electri wiring on my bike is wrong ?

Might something wrong with yr wiring, in this case, might be along yr new horn. OR did u switch off yr bike before inserting the new fuse?

Case for reference: Weeks ago, I was adjusting my t5 bulb socket with the bike switched on. Accidentally allowed the 2 tips of the connector to come in contact without a t5 inserted. Saw some sparks & subsequently found a blown fuse. This might be similar for yr case. U might want to try figuring out on yr own by checking yr bike, ESP. around the areas where the mech recently worked on. Rmb to stock up on a couple of fuse, just in case they do blow again.

Alternatively, if that's too time-consuming for you, you may consider towing yr bike back to the shop.

In my opinion, it would be better to know where the error lies yrself (if possible, or at least have a rough idea of where the fault might lie), rather than let the bike shop troubleshoot for you, cause you know, sometimes, 'no problem also turn into problem' & they get you to change some irrelevant parts which they claim are the faulty ones.

One good way to gain more knowlege on yr bike & be able to troubleshoot such scenarios in future would be to join our outings...

Hope this helps u in a way or another.. Hope to see u at our next outing. Ride safe guys, it's wet

Ya... Probably wiring issue as mentioned as rylim...

Since it was messy in the first place.

Usually a good mechanic will remove redundant wirings.

Uses only the required wires.

Did ur mechanic just bundle up unnecessary wires?

Did he insulate the wires properly?

U may DIY to rectify the problem.

Anyone can provided u know wat ur doing.

Just dun make it worse.

Good if anyone can go and help u since ur bike cannot move. (Provide ur contact and location)

I know I can't cos I am not sure of the wirings.

If know one can go over to help u... and u dun want to tow ur bike to workshop, there is this on site repair fellow.

Hey guys, I am trying to organise a mini diy session for LED lights for our meter. If you are interested plz visit the thread below and indicate your name. I am trying to bring the cost down to $40.. But i can only do that if I have a good number on my hand. Although I call it DIY, but a friend of mine will be doing most of the important part. We just go down and help him wherever possible.

Thanks Guys..
