Im using rextor dualband.and yes apparently after i switch to my stock cdi, starting's a breeze.i double confirm by fixing the cdi on my friend's spark and his couldnt start as well.well i have 1 month warranty from shop.but gotta go over the causeway to claim.gotta claim cuz it cost 380rm :/

Shamoz, pls post a picture of the CDI because in JB, there's alot of fake Rextors. Ive went to a shop there before and they die die try to convince me & Duo that it was original till we showed them an original one.

You're lucky that it happened during the warranty period. Mine died off after using for 6 months. Warranty given was 3 months. :faint:

Cdi is a electronic parts. If you lucky den no problem.. if u not lucky u will get a spoilt one.. you cant tell from the look only got to try den know.. haha as

Here it goes.

Haaa. Exactly the one that i used. Rode from Tamp to Yishun on TPE/SLE at 140kmh all the way. First stop at traffic light, my engine died off & could not start anymore. Luckily had my stock CDI underneath my seat & i swapped on the spot.

hey guys after asking so many shop regarding towing prices.. its kinda ex to tow bike from sg to jb.

heres the story, i took over the bike from a friend of mine whom subrider it. He suddenly gave it back to me after saying that he unable to carry on anymore and abt 3 mths never even start the bike or use.. damn..Overdued of 3 mths installment havent pay.

so i towed the bike to my place with my friend's van and laid up done at LTA.

heres the problem with the bike:

turn ignition key on signal and brake lights horn signal IU is still working strong. kick start compression still there. however i managed to kick start the bike only with choke on after kicking start several times. bike can stil still free wheel when engaged gear while on mainstand and while maintaining throttle with choke on.

whenever i off the choke although i maintain the throttle the engine will die off.

Anyone have any idea to rectify these issue, should i change engine oil spark plug and oil filter after 3 mths never been start. or should i wash the carburator and retune it..? or juz send shop to full service. do i need to empty the fuel tank as currently in it is full tank of petrol which is 3mths old.

i wish to start my bike and then off to inspection cntr to renew rd tax and inspection to ride up my bike again.

any advise will be appreciated. tanxs.

guys, there is a slight knocking sound coming from the front of the bike, really no idea where its coming from, but kinda suspect its a failing conrod. :(

a friend of mine said that it might just be a tube/s which accidentally disconnected itself.

any input from you all?

Mine also had a "knocking sound" after I turned off the engine. The sound seems to go away after the engine has cooled down.

Nothing to worry about if the engine is not running. However knocking sound when the engine is running is a cause for worry.

Guys, where to get motul dot 4 brake fluid?the shops i go only have motul dot 5.1.is it ok to use 5.1 instead of dot 4?

it ok to use DOT 5.1.

DOT 5.1 vs 4 is the different in boiling point. all of them are polyethylene-glycol based. as long as you are not using DOT 5 is fine.

unless you race and expect the brake fluid to heat up, the brand of the brake fluid make very little different. changing it every 2 years as manual recommend is more important. a decent DOT 4 will do just find. don't have to be motul.

Posted
Just my preference.but the dot 4 also other brands dont have.any shop?

hmmm... most of the shop should have. it funny the shop you visit doesn't have it. i change my brake fluid at HL cycle before. they use Agip DOT 4. they have motul DOT 5.1 too but must top up $10.

for most people, brake fluid just doesn't make a lot of different even if you are mostly riding in stop and go traffic. it just doesn't heat up that much. if you go for tracking, that another story.
