bros, need some advice from those of you who are using Battlax BT39 tyres for spark.

when you change tyres, do you normally change only the rear or change both together?

the mechanic told me normally pple change rear tyre only. is that true? as he said rear tyre wears out faster. roughly 3 times change rear tyre den change the front 1 time.

and also, he said BT39 tyres oversized for stock sports rim. (which is what i am using)

then he recommend using IRC tyres instead..

is it true that IRC tyres r meant more for normal road usage and battlax more for track?

coz i always had this perception that IRC tyres r crap.

thanks in advance.

irc tyre is slippery when its wet and when cornering u myte just kiss the floor... i skid a few time while using stock tyre...bt39ss has better grip n good for cornering... thats y its better to use bt39ss for safety especially during wet road....

i dun think irc tyres are good at all.... i fall 2 times using them on raining days... i think at least a dunlop will be good if u have low budget... 2 days ago.... i was riding like 90 out of ECP to bedok... the 2nd traffic light turn red before i can pass.... i E brake, forget lock elbow... skidded a little and manage to put back when its closed to 2 cm to ground.... not bad i would say... as the tyre hold it back a bit giving mi a little chance to pull bk and not making mi change fairring again..lol

Usually Rear tyres the thread finish first than the front tyre. Correct. IRC tyres cannot make it la. If you really want to use IRC then only choose IRC GOLD WINGS Series. Got two types. One is IRC GOLD WINGS Sports Series. Another is IRC GOLD WINGS Racing Series. I use both before on my Honda Wave last time not bad. Rear 80/90 and Front 70/90. The BEST i like is IRC GOLD WINGS Racing Series but IRC GOLD WINGS Sport Series is economy and good as well.

Battlax actually is for street use too. Due to the super soft and grippy compound it's one of the best so many use it for track use. Lot of pple also using for street use as well.

Quite true. The power comes from the rear wheel. the front is just to guide it. Unless your bike is 2 wheel drive.

IRC tyres got different grade. There is one that is for racing use. I heard its softer and stickier so it won;t last long but will be grippy as hell.

oh ya.. one thing to clarify, is stock spark tyre also IRC tyre?

coz i changed my tyres to battlax 2 weeks after getting my spark.

I know what shop you went.

Same la. I went that shop to do normal servicing. BIG disappointment. That shop give pple impression that they can do spark swee swee one right? End up kanasai.

PS: And duo true enough, if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself. But these mechanics are PAID for their services. It's not that we know how to do therefore we should do it ourselves. I mean, anybody can wash a freaking car but why do you have car washers?

IRC is the brand. They have different models/types of tyres under IRC. for example like Bridgestone they have BT39 and BT090 and etc. From the top of my head the stock IRC ones are NF63 or something.

The more you travel the faster your tyre will need to be changed.

Its mainly because they know that you guys do not know how to do it that you guys are usually charge funny prices and also they do it half heartedly.

You send a car to get washed because you are simply lazy to wash it yourself. Simple as that.

ABOUT the tyre, he highlighted a very important point, since my tyres are also about to be botak, so what. change the back only first, or change both also?
