i threw away the shiny header.. hahaha.. but if your header is rusty, perhaps you might want to go JB and decarbonize your header and exhaust.. and they will spray the header black for you.. remember to ask for HI Temp black spray. if normal black spray, it wont last.. or you can wrap your header with exhaust heat wrap from Mr Koh (ezzyoiler)..

just got myself a bot of degreaser + plastic cleaner

the guys at macp caltex station car wash were v nice helped me to spray the engine & under chassis

will try out saving the screws next with some antirust, then time to restore the dull plastics back to glory.. hopefully

to stop the header rusting...clean it with a wire brush..or sandpaper...i will use rust converter ..and the spray with a coat o high temp paint..

 

and the wrap with exhaust wrap...so that the corroded pipe cannot be seen...

 

now you have a boy racer wrap...yes it will booost your bike horse power too.

 

 

as my nick implies ...i install ezzyoilers..chain oilers...check out it at the pmo..cmo..forum.

Not really a bike wash cos they dont to bikes at night, so just gun the grease out at no charge(nice rite) so I buy them drinks.. hehe

Let me check the p.cleaner brand again, quite ex abt $20+ dontknow effective or not.. degreaser just get cheap bottle last time bought 4-5$ now up $6+

You can trade in your old set of fairing to Kok Seng @ JB. They will give you a 2nd hand fairing with new paintwork, a few colours to choose from, cost around RM300++. Or you can buy original yamaha fairing from Kok Seng around RM500. OR that time i ask ah boy full set fairing but choing one he quote me $130.

 

in my opinion, singapore sell accesories too exp, maybe for a x1 coz our machine value low alr, still buy so exp things bo hua. i personally think JB not bad. u wan wad can find wad... except wrapping of chair, jb very limited, mostly black only.

 

 

kok seng is the shop beside ah boy issit? its been yrs since i go jb bike shp... my x1 cond deteriorating man.. is it possible to trade in certain parts only? cos i ant to keep my carbon parts...

@swat_ yeah kok seng near ahboy. not sure about trading in other parts, but fairings can.

 

for the ezzyoiler, mine is still in a mess leh. dirty rear wheels and chain guard but for the time being i off the valve seems like a little improvement. waiting for all the access drip off like wad ezzyoiler has mentioned.

 

as for the heat wrap i can feel my throttle response a little faster =)

Erm... Not sure if must trade in all or not. You can ask. The shop got the sign board write kok seng what. Normally i do my bike at Jin fong. Yah maybe can meet up and discuss.

u need to understand how the paint and the lacquer works.. not all scratch can be removed.. if the scratch is only over the lacquer den wax can help to cover it up.. but if the scratch reached the pain layer, den wax will be useless.. as a rule of thumb, if you run your nails over the scratch and can feel it, that is a deep scratch and no amt of wax will be able to save it.. if it is very fine, wax will be able to cover it up..

 

Fabian, I would suggest for your bike to put on some white, black and red stickers over your purple based x1.. cheaper than whole paintwerk hehe..
