Just got my new Downtown 200i, Yesterday! Was shock to see the document that the market value of this scooter is only $3,000+! COE is $6,000+ Bought at $16,000 new scooter!

Hi Guys, recently I bought a downtown 300i and was told that this bike should use semi syn engine oil instead of fully syn. IMO, I thought fully syn should serve the engine better. Any advise available from the old birds? =)

Any suggestion which brand of synthetic oil is the best as to protect the engine? also market price? Tks

My opinion is go with the mainstream oil and you'll be fine. Mainstream oil like - Shell, Mobil, Motul and etc... those that are common and well know.

Semi syn or fully syn are preference. if you change oil early semi syn are fine. If you want to drag longer then go with fully.

Say...the normal service interval is 5000km with oil filter change. If you are going to change at about 2000km to 2500km go with the semi. If you want to do the full 5000km then go with fully syn. if you are going to change oil early at 2500km then you can don't change the oil filter until 5000km. i drag mine to 10,000km for oil filter as i change engine oil early.

Just my preference on how i do it.

I assume you are a first time owner. As with any new bike the market value on the log card will be very cheap.

That is market value not machine price.

Hi, I'm riding Downtown 300i. Is it normal when turning the ignition switch on (before engine starts) the oil pressure indicator remains ON? But it turns off immediately after the engine starts. I only saw this phenomenon recently. Previously it's always off I think. Is there something I should concern? Thanks for your help.

Hi, I just got a second hand 2013 downtown 200. When starting the bike from cold, after the engine starts it can idle ok. However when I move off, and as I come to a stop, the engine dies. Thus I need to keep the rev up as I slow down. This happens unless the engine is warmed up after about 5 minutes. Is this normal? I live around Alexandra, is there a good mechanic to recommend, and does anyone know what is the likely issue? First time having a non Japanese bike, so advise will be great. Thanks.

Hi xrv38, why don you go back to where you bought since you just bought it?

I had experience a similar problem before and it was a case of fuel injector dirty. well you never know the cause unless the mechanic inspect it.

Any 200i owners know the difference btw the Downtown 200i and the K-XCT 200i?

Not much info on the web as K-XCT 200i is for local production only.

Only know that it is using the K-XCT 300i chasis.

Thanks in advance

Just put my deposit for a downtown 200i. :p

Not much info on the web, kinda decide on it base on the info here and since the bike looks fabulous. What the heck.... buy first talk later. Any tips for a newbie like me? Have not been riding for years.

Most of the online shop seems to only sell kxct300i parts.

Any website that sells DT200i parts?

hi guys!

just sold my bike recently and was deciding to get a new bike between DT200i or k-xct 200i.

Any recommendations for bikeshop to purchase Downtown200i from?

Posted

Buy from agent Motorsports. Maybe we should get together and ask for more freebies or even discount. I am thinking of getting a DT350

I was looking at Unique motorsports too. But nowadays downpayment for bike is so much compared to last time huh.

Global Motors asking for 1k deposit only but i dont know their shop reputation how.

I try asking Agent Motorsports too...
