jleo...the bike in the middle is it a S4 ver S?

Opps, the odd bike out has been spotted even thou the colour is the same.

:cheeky: :cheeky:

Anyway if u were asking that bec u were wondering a 9yr old S4 VerS can make it.. Well the bike is more than suffcient, however if you doing 2 up, then it might be alittle stressful and tiring if you are keeping pace with the bigger boys up the countless slopes.

Hi Cheeko,

Well have to admit that Jleo help me most of the time because he knows better and have experienced in using GPS when to zoom in or zoom out and how to read out the details- whereas as I'm as a 1st timer/user- I was lost first -like what you are facing now, of how to use...I always zoom in. But after sometime of practicing, I know how to use it.

Frankily this gpsmap60c is very usefull...:thumb:

During meetup bring down your 60c with the manual, we can go thru ...or you can try/practising it on our local road to understand further and it's functions.

Try to understand and learn it's function before- going for any long distance trip which you are not familiar with....

If you need more/full details about road need to download from the website. Palary have the site or you can try to search back this divvy threat just 1 or 2 pages to see the details(web site) where palary send to me.

I thought you are going for the 60CX series using -expandable memmory card.

how much did you spend on...the gpsmap60c...??? did you get any of the brackets together.

I'm still interested to get those "lighter socket" is very usefull during night travelling you can 'on' the back light to the max...using battery with the backlight mode 'ON" it consumes the battery very fast in few hours...without the backlight usage this gps60series can last for long hours...

Silverghost...o_O

:pity: yes, i am also using the 60C just like u describe, always zoom in to use, and duno when to zoom out. i think i have no choice but to learn from u during ur guys next meet up. Drinks on me. So far i have download only the malaysia maps into my set, thailand maps i have trouble opening to view on my computer. Manual read already but very standard & straight forward, but not much use.

I haven buy any brackets yet, so no choice keep inside tankbag when travelling. I got the 60cs set at $80.

Hi Cheeko,

You bought it 2nd hand or what...or is it typo error $80/- putting inside tank bag dosen't help much as the reflection on the bag clear plastic make it difficult to read the map or need to press some function buttons.

Hey comics00,

Can lemme test ride ur FJR a short distance or not?? :cheeky: :cheeky:

U sure u like to join my rides? My trips i usually go might either be too short, too easy or likely too slow for a spanking new FJR, roaring to go...

Realistically, i'd prob only do a short trip ard May, if i can squeeze out the time a weekend dash up to frasers in April might also be on the cards.

Need sometime off to recover financially from the last trip.

Do lets us noe when u collect ur bike so we can admire it tog. (n i can steal a test ride on it also.. :cheeky: )

Cheers!

Hi Bro,

You bought the 60c or 60cs -cause 60c cost only $700/- whereas the 60cs $800/- you are confusing me with the model/series and pricing...:giddy:

60cs (palary using) $800/- with altimeter and barometer - extras good for hikers/mountaineers.

60c (my model) $700/-

brackets between $35-$55

please check your model/series ~ o_O

McTan,

A set here cost S$145. Inc installation set me back a total of S$155. Though pricy, i have not regretted the extra protection from the elements it affords from the elements.

Euro, we took the big loop anticlockwise from Mae Malai(Mae Rim), passing Pai, MHS, Khun Yuam, Mae Saireng then finally to Mae Sot.

The most tiring and taxing part would be the last part with the rd conditions as we skirted Mae Nam Moei, the river that seperates southeast Myanmar from Northwest Thai.

Hi Cheeko,

Okay I worried that you kenna con! thats all...!

Sure no problem, when there is a meetup we'll put up here.! till then play with the gps and refer the manual together...

sharing what I've learn from other buggers...

1)When you are traveling zoom out the gps map so you can see the state or town you are heading; always verify/check with the road you are traveling with the road signs.

"On the declutter", so you can see the road clearly on your GPS.

2)Once reached the intended place/location you zoom in till can see all the road ~the screen can show.... 'OFF the declutter ' so you can see the place of interest on the gps... practice this couple of time, till you get used to it.

The rest of the features can try out slowly...

Hi guys,

I'll be getting the 'cigarette lighter' socket soon thru my friend who is getting it from borneo motors about $20++gst comes with the rubber cover...I might be fixing it near the battery cover or look for some other location to mount it...! (must think of wirings)

Have ordered an all weather clover full gloves (model:st-03wp ) from chaplee about $135/-....I might not be fixing the handguard as planed unless the translucent handguards are available here- but till then, I like the air flow cooling my regular full grain gloves or cools the jacket thru sleeves openning -if I wear the shorter gloves, if it rains then change into the all weather full gloves.

As for the recent trip to thailand the regular full gloves dosen't help much as we reach closer to the northeren part of Thailand, the weather over there is cool and during late evening and morning it is much cooler(14 'c)...but if I had the all weather gloves it have insulated my hands.

As for the handguard - it will help to deflect the cold air away from my regular gloves and it won't get my fingers numb..then again... how often..?? we ride in a cool weather like that anyway... . handguards dosent help much at our hot climate say Malaysia or S'pore where you need the air, so...your gloves will be comfortable to wear...

SG, my bike is fitted w/ the "cigarette lighter" socket (Hella), good for those having GPS or other gadgets, bad is that all male plugs have to change to the smaller plugs. SO all car accessories have to convert. It's meant for m/cycle (outdoor useage) thus having the rubber lid. Good stuff.... :thumb: Wiring harness requiried and fuse as well. Btw I got mine from M-technic. Advise is get one female and lots of male, change partners..... heehee....:lovestruck:

Hi Bro BackOFF,

I need to see your bike cigarette lighter socket... I have seen people mount it' at handle bars and other places...

You got it from m-technic the (BM ser shop)...how much did you bought it..? I'm  (bad is that all male plugs have to change to the smaller plugs) --why is that so..??

The one I getting is for "car use" (standard size)...Wiring no problem I have done number of modification to all my earlier bikes...I've always add a fuse and a switch before any item modify.

I've seen power socket on the website it is too EXpensive $US 48/- for a basic/simple gadget with wires and fuse...the handle mount is $US120/-...www.powerlet.net

Looks like you have done everything on you bike already....:cheer:

Bro SG, no problem, hope U can view b4 I sell my Divvy.

They are of different size, car accesssories are much bigger, as compared to the one for m/cycle. Meet up and I will show U the why..... :cheeky:

Another brand available is from BMW, those female sockets are much expensive, however nicer. Male plugs same, smaller ones, but have to use Hellas ones, BMW dun have male plugs. :nono:

I had installed it at the side fairing near to the black speedometer cover. I also have a switch install so as to switch on whenever I need to use them when engine is off. Thus power can be taped directly from battery. :goodluck:

My digi camera spoilt unable to download pics, if not I can take a pics and post here. :sorry: :faint:

Custom,

Yes, it is about that amount. I get 21.5L, reserve at 18L. You want to know where i got that? Tell you at the next.. Carrot cake and BBQ chicken wings!

Backoff,

From the time i know you till now... you have never stopped adding stuff to your bike! by the way, I hear Batman needs a new bike for the next movie!

SG,

Now you know what i meant when i said somethings are just an accessory to me.

Jleo, looks like you got more than you bargain for! It made the trip more meaningful.. Priceless!

Safe...
