Few days ago while i was travelling back from PIE to CTE ... i forgot that there was ERP there ... so i quickly stop at the road shoulder (which i think the wide is only enff for bike and not for car).. and insert my cashcard.. but i saw this big signboard there "NO WAITING".. will i get any point n fines for it?.. ( coz i was jus inserting my cashcard and move off already) :cry: any kind soul please help..

If you kena caught then yes it's FINE PLUS POINTS.

 

I found myself without a cashcard once and just decided to ride through the thing. Got a letter to pay admin fee $10 (if pay via ASX machine got discount). Good thing I didn't stop because further down the road there was a TP catching people stopping.

you would usually get booked when u just wait there on the side so that the erp gantry would stop operation...

On the expressway stopping at the expressway shoulder gives you $130 fine & 4 demerit points.

Of course... they'll get the fine & demerits if TP, LTA, Police or some motorist (basically anyone) reports it. If you have a valid reason such as waiting for a tow-truck or some mechanical issue then TP will waive off your fine & demerit points.

If you cannot stop safely (eg. you are on 1st lane) then just ride through. The $10 admin fee you can appeal. Genuine cases like unfamiliarity with the area's ERP they will definitely waive the fee. The drawback is that the payment of the ERP fee may be troublesome (I went all the way to LTA to pay 25 cents!!).
