hi ,

today i was at home and then there was this boy and girl who came over to my place and say that my dad was in an accident and that the guy asked to claim from my dad. ( my dad drives a taxi)

i had no ideal that my dad had an accident and i stupidly signed over the documents which was not even mine.

the documents claimed 5k for the damage to the vehicle.

when my dad came back he shouted and said that the person was in the wrong and that i shouldn't sign over the letter and that the letter should be redirected to comfort.

i was shocked as i signed the acknowledgement letter and i dun even know , i just received the letter.

my dad has the documentary proof that the driver at that time was in the wrong and signed a letter that he was in the wrong.

i am just a third party who signed over a lawyer letter .

so can the law firm use the fact that me a third party who signed a form just to acknowledge the letter though my father said that the letter is not for me and i shouldn't sign it as it is not my concern.

so what should i do now ? as i have no ideal what is happening and my father keep on saying that i should not accept any letter that is not for me.

so may i know what is the course of action ????

need help as i really dunno what is happening as i just receive the letter.

thank you people

really appreciate any help

cunning people lurking around recently, increasing our insurance premiums. We should just slaughter these people, worst then pigs.

See your MP or approach a lawyer for help, the law can be played round and round one. There was once i approached a lawyer that offers free consultation, and in the end he filed an appealed for me without my consent and asked for payment, he said he could take me to court if i did not pay. So i willingly paid him as the appeal was rather helpful to my situation.

Hope you & your dad 'll be fine.

first thing first.

you are not the dad.

you are not the driver of the taxi.

the accident is not your fault.

you were not a witness to the accident.

-----

what actually was the name of the document you signed on behalf of your father?

and what letter did you just received?

when is the date and time of the accident?

What is the date and time you signed off the documents for you father.

What is the name on the document addressed to and what is the name of the letter addressed to. Your father's name or your name?

Frankly, if they delivered the documents and letters to your father's address. Its up to your father to discuss the matter with his taxi leasing company and forward the documents himself.

Signing off documents, receiving the letters on your father's behalf is not a big deal. And your father is still alive and shouting.

Tell him go shout at his insurance and taxi company about how they reveal his home address to other people and has the boy and girl go up his house to serve him documents, without first sending it to the insurance and taxi company.

Receiving documents and receiving it does nothing detrimental. Simply forward all the documents directly to the insurer to reply. It's that simple. Do it immediately.

hi my friends , this accident happened last may and the driver got into an accident with my father and he admitted and wrote and signed that he was in the wrong.

but now he ordered a lawyer letter to be delivered to my father which in turn should be addressed to comfort.

the thing is i stupidly accepted it which of course is not my concern and this case they should hand over to comfort.

haiz .

thank you for the advise guys ! really appreciate. so no liability on my part ? just by accepting those documents ?

thanks !

You're just the recipient of the letters. It's just like SingPost delivering registered letters to your house. You've only signed for it as proof of delivery. Divert all these letters to your insurers straightaway.

Mr Jeremy, you asked for advice and have now received some. It's simply: give the papers to Comfort's insurer immediately and nothing else. It's now up to you to decide what you want to do.

In addition, the lawyer for the other party did nothing wrong in serving the papers meant for the defendant, your dad, to his address. They are not obliged to serve them onto Comfort.

Nope, like what contarian typed. Its only a letter addressed to your father.

And its your father's responsibility to forward those to his taxi company and refer to his company lawyers as soon as possible.

first tell us what is the contents of the paper you signed.

anyway you are just a 3rd party and not involved in the accident between the driver and your father, i doubt they will have use over your "consent"

what did the letter actually stated and what's the terms or conditions written in it??
