sorry still a cbr400 noob...

learn tgt.haha

ya cbr got 4 carb. i was thinking of doing valve clearance, but not sure how does it benefit my bike. any oldbird can advise ?

make ur bike smoother aso ???

yeap...when tunning time, they use some measurement equipment to plug in carb to tune untill all match.I done my service at jb for RM120.

oh..ic

-----

wad abt those 2b bike, wad is thier tuning lyk, when they wan to tune? they only 1 carb

leak eo does not mean leak out on the grd as jeffyee mentioned. the eo may leak to the combustion chamber and burn away. result will be white smoke.

check the eo colour when u change eo. milky colour mean gasket gone/eo leak. look for oily stain/dirt on the engine exterior.

look at the spark plug area for eo traces.

so if gt white smoke, means most prob is eo? or cfm is eo ?

I thought if EO overflow is black color smoke de.

normally EO wont overflow untill piston head there, black smoke =carbon is normal.

but too much carbon will block the exhaust also,so some time try to rev higher rpm clear out the carbon or go out from 2nd link den full throttle for few km,the carbon confirm clear :thumb:

the most you can do is see the exterior, no signs of damage. the forks not leaking, not leaking any oil from other parts. other than that you have to dismantle the bike then you can really know what is the problem in the bike.

Its a tricky question.

There are new parts, but depends which parts also.

Some have to wait a long time for shipment, for eg, The wireharness is most of the time out of stock.

do we need to rev hard on stationary to see smoke colour ?

i got see the mechanic do that and lots of black smoke come out .

Black smoke you dont have to worry much.

I guess you're using stock pipe right?

Just go on out to 2nd link or NSHW to clear carbon.

Most ppl dont ride the CBR4 as a sportsbike. They short change the gears and worry it will breakdown.

The bike is so well designed with tall gears, just go out and drag the rpm range! Youll feel its good!

But of course, at your own risk.

The last time i dragged my 2nd gear, my sprocket sub oil seal broke. Its just all the wear and tear parts.

Slowly replace the parts and youll be enjoying the ride!

haha, riding a 2a sports bike is so much different from riding a 2b sports bike. I upgraded to cbr from krr, and the feeling is totally different. The force which you get when you really drag your bike is something which KRR can't give. Other than performance, the other big factor is the maintenance. Sports bike require much replacing of wear and tear parts than other bike, furthermore, cbr400 is not a young bike already! Parts is not obsolete, just need to order. Some part's are easier to find than others, so don't worry about spare parts, just have to wait for shipment. : )

But afterall, 400 is never satisfying in the presence of 1000 and more.
