is there any diference whether we use petrol shell grade 95,98 or vpower or other brand ?

in terms of power ?

to me, yes. last time when i was riding sp, 95 will cause the engine to be noisy and powerless. 98 will have more power and wont be as noisy as 95 and vpower will of cos be more powerful. from then, i always stick with 98 or vpower. not sure about 95 now.

n maybe sometime use vpower.

vpower cleans the engine .is it correct ?

coolant turning white is a very bad sign. it means engine oil has mixed with the coolant, most likely cause is blown head gasket due to overheating. Corroded water pump and hoses or faulty radiator or cap could have caused the overheating. fixing the whole cooling system will only reduce the symptoms so you will think that the problem is fixed already. the main problem is still the head gasket which will require top overhaul to fix, cos cylinder head might be warped from too much overheating. Bikeshop will not want to waste time and money to repair the main issue, only temporary fix till warranty over then u get big headache.

To test if your head gasket is intact, (do this when your bike is totally cooled off so as not to get scalded by hot coolant), remove radiator cap and fill coolant to the brim. now with the radiator cap off, start the engine. If your head gasket is intact, the coolant level in the radiator should remain the same or drop slightly. but if its leaking, coolant will be shooting from the radiator mouth like a geyser.

If it turns out that your head gasket is blown, its best to spend abit for a top overhaul and a full cooling system check which should enable your bike to last another 10 yrs thereafter

Wow, how your friend jam his x1r. Okay maybe really can jam, just that I don't know. lol.

Radiator I would say can set back 400 dollars, maybe more, maybe less. The average temperature while cruising should be around the wording "E". During jams, might go more than half, 3/4 maybe. CBR tend to have alot of wiring problem, when you open up, the wire sometime is so messy and might burn fuse easily if not done properly.

ohh okok ! thn wiring redo need hw much ? thn before buying its good to see the wiring in the bike first? and wht is the meaning of grounding ? saw a few bike selling thn they said they done grounding. but i dun understand abt it.

And in ur opinion u tink which version of cbr is better?

I will reach for it no matter how high it is :cheeky:

Hmm, rewiring might cost a little, might cost a lot depending on how bad it is. But you buy from shop or ?

Grounding sort of reduce the loss of electricity thus making your lights brighter, easier startup and better combustion. I might be wrong though, but that's what I learn.

In fact, a lot of people are saying Hurricane is the fastest due to the bigass header which they have. But the fact is that, they're too old already, unless the owner really maintain it with extreme care, even so, there will be wear and tear damages. I would recommend getting N model or R model, they're the newer ones in market. Good luck with getting your CBR, hope to see you on the road around soon! Ride safe.

R model has the most modern forks of the CBRs, but the header is damn small....

How long have you been using it? I heard you get better throttle response with it, true?

Seems like coolant leaking... I know that you may be thinking how can coolant be whitish color... that is probably coz the bike shop din change coolant for you... One way to confirm is open your coolant reservoir and look at the color of the coolant...

For such a short time you really got a lot of problems bro... :( Hope you get it all settled soon..

Wah you are so nice to clean the MSCP... :cheeky:

i've been eyein d levels in ebay as well..juz wanna test d market ard local bikes shops interms of price n quality. theres 2 types extendable(77+) and short levers(55+)

As for the CDI..it definitely feels diff..d bike seems its ready to launch more...mayb d timing is a lil advance...the bike feels lighter n nicer to drag...ive yet to clear my meter tho'...haha...haven really gt d time to go 2nd link..

im trying to find a good one either in forum / shops. And how do i differentiate between the model R / N or from other models ? Any distinct features? or things to look out when differentiating them ? ya ! the moment i get e bike i will be here ! ride safe too :)

And also if im getting from shop, any recommendation ? or anythings tht u would recommend the bike shop to do for me before handing me the bike ? :)

Im not a fan of buying from shop, cause they rarely maintain the bike. But you might get lucky running into a honest one though. To differentiate, just open up the back seat then look at the stick at the side, they should write CBR 400 RR"L,N,R" model. So if you're getting a N model it'll be "Cbr 400 RRN" so on. Can't be asking you to see the header since you've not seen the different sizes before, I didn't know how to differentiate when I just got my bike too. If getting from shop, should be able to check the log card, I'm not 100% sure on this though.

Easy, for the model, just look at the chassis number on the throttle side of the bike... Then compare to the list I posted on the previous page..

You can also look at the sticker like bro advocates mentioned, but these are old bikes chances are the sticker not there lioz... :cheeky:

It's not how fast you can ride, it's how fast you can stop.

Bro I like your signature... :thumb: What you did to your bike to get this kinda stopping power..

Haha, my stopping power not very good, even if stopping good, a worn our tire will still give way. So this is to remind people to NOT save on brakes, tire. But I got myself the HEL brakehose, pretty decent addition to my bike : )

Yo guys! Just when u think everything is over, here comes the bomb. Collected my bike this afternoon after they say everythig gna be okay and they claimed thy change new water pump. So I rode to batok and bingo, that rubbish leaked again... Same color as b4..

So I called shop they say tml which will be later go back shop change radiator cap.. So I said okay and just now, just only, i was riding home from batok when I noticed my temp getting higher(hotter).. I started to slow down and maintained ard 60-70km/h and before I know it, there was this poof sound and the whitish liquid just came squirting out from the handle bar the carbs there and at the right side of my bike! I immediately stoppe by the side and off my engine ad it was smoking man..my visor got all the whitish stuff (lucky I cover visor) and my leather jacket also Kenna (lucky I wear jacket too) my right leg also Kenna.. Quite hot lol

Pushed one side call tow truck tml pick the bike and flag a cab home.
