hi runner bros, feel like getting a used runner but deciding between the FX n SP, wats the difference? wats the cost of parts;

-engine overhaul

-belt,pulley

-electronics(CDi)

-suspension

 

hope to know more abt it before committment. thanks!

SP bigger fuel tank with front and rear disk brakes, FXR smaller tank with front disk brake and read drum brake

Outlook the same. most approaching 10 yrs or already exceeded. mint condition ones are a little harder to find. Plenty of aftermarket parts.

Get ready 2K for a full overhaul.

belt and pulley? just change stock pulley and a malossi belt.

CDI? no need la..

Suspension get conventional front fork and aftermarket rear shock.

inverted fork is lighter but not serviceable, stock rear shock lasts u max 6 mths of hard riding.

 

Crap, i miss riding my scoot. :cry:

get an SP, hands down..

i have both and the FXR's drum brake is quite a b*tch at times.

thanks bros for the great info! went to test a FX180,all i can say is POWER! had tried my frens' VXR'04 n ST200 but the 2stroke still have the best power! the surge is wow...

however the one i tested is a FX model, SP model cant find....

FXR is the fastest of the runners because its the lightest runner in terms of weight!

dun worry abt rear drum brake. Its the front brakes that are important. 70% front, 30% rear?

Only set back is that a rear drum brake tends to lock up more easily than a brake disk.

If u intend to get it cheaply, go for a full overhaul service and change the suspensions if u want, throw in an over sized front brake disk along with steel braided hose for greater control. The rest can do slowly :angel:

getting my 180SP soon! saw a mint condition one for sale, tested and very satisfied. anyway hows the fc like for this bike???
