good job mate !

Thks!

The bike I got was laid-up and not ridable when I took possession 1 mth back...after hearing the pros and cons I decided to take the plunge jux to satisfy my curiosity on the mystical SP180 Runner.

Had the bike towed to a reputable scooter w/shop in Kallang Way. Bought a new battery on the way just to try my luck to see if she would fire-up and just do a routine servicing to get her back OTR after clearing inspection or so I thought...

Boy was I wrong in my assumptions...as a matter of fact....way..way off...!

....to be continued (when time permits)....

i usually buy my parts at auto machinery, down at rowell road, and head to an mechanic to get it fixed. ban hoe leong has 2 stroke parts too..

you could also buy parts online, eg. scooter center;

cause they have more parts for 2 strokes, and its cheaper too..

maintainence wise, to get it to work proper in the first place is the killer.

after which, i would say its pretty alright. i just bought a 'new' 2 stroke as well..

the condition's like **** i tell you, but i'm slowly building it up. :)

have fun with yours.

oh ok. ya just wondering on the parts. i really dont know which one to go for man. im really curious abt the 180sp also haha. heard it performs really well. really leaning to that. the only reason im also considering the 200 is for the exhuast and parts easier to get and newer also. can the 180 use 200 parts? but are there any exhaust available for the 180? oh if the condition is like **** why did u buy it? haha. are the parts ex also?

try me...I rebuilt mine dude....:cheeky:

woo.... did u DIY?

stripped whole bike to bare chassis, sand down, clean and paint.

fix back harness,change worn parts,re-grease,oil,

more de-rust,and oil,

strip engine, take out crankshaft, change bearings, seal, gaskets,

sand down and clear carbon deposits,

replace engine bushings,

strip carb to bits,

service brake calipers,bleed,

etc and etc....

I have not touch on mods yet. which involves more measuring, testing, grinding, sanding and polishing.

Next time use 'try me' on others but not me. :sian:

U can 'try me' to challenge to a strip engine contest or watever.

woo.... did u DIY? No. Sourced for required parts n left it to mech's to rebuild.

stripped whole bike to bare chassis, sand down, clean and paint. Chassis was in decent shape with hardly any corrosion so skipped tis part.

fix back harness,change worn parts,re-grease,oil,

more de-rust,and oil, Bits of electricals eg. rectifier, switches etc.

strip engine, take out crankshaft, change bearings, seal, gaskets,

sand down and clear carbon deposits, Engine total rebuild - New block & piston, Malossi head, re-balanced crankshaft n got new bearings pressed in.

replace engine bushings,

strip carb to bits,

service brake calipers,bleed,

etc and etc.... Yes, these SOP too.

Btw I used "try me" in jest as it was a pretty darn extensive excercise getting my scoot up and running to me...not in any way meant to detract from you...the amount u put into ur ride...I feel u man.

Cheers!

chill dude, i'm sure he means well.. :)

and i feel you too, did that to my first 2 stroke, but its worth it yeah ?

oh, i bought a new one cause my previous 2 stroke was the fxr and most of the falls i had was due the locking of the rear tyre, which is due to the drum brake that it has.. other than that, the coe was renewed only for 5 yrs so it had to be scrapped off this year..

don't give up man, it'll be worth it.. (eventually) haha..

if u guys do not DIY, i find it no point to get the 2 stroke version.

after not riding for 4-5years, i HAD to get my own hands dirty again. Worth every cut, sweat, blood and energy. Any rich kid can build one supercharged+ NOS 2-stroker but he knows nuts about it. Just crash and burn. o_O

Maybe i'm toking too much. :dozed:

thats actually quite true dude.

out of curiosity, where can i find tools to actually diy my bike ?

i would like to service my bike on my own for a change, eg: belts, rollers etc.

i bought the manual over at ebay and i'm not familiar with the tools that they use.

do i need a small generator in the first place for the power tools ?

appreciate it very much of you could share, and thank you in advance.. :)

Bro you saw my tools before for dismantling transmission n such.. Just that you need one more special tool to hold your transmission from moving. No electric needed. :)

Nope, the mech is right 2 strokes are noisy.

Is ur scoot stock? Airbox or open pod filter?

Airbox will be quieter though
