from the picture above uses almost similar to stock ones just that they uses hard materials for smooth traction instead of the stock ones *plastic and uses balled type of bearings.. Hi guys, just got a 2 stroke gilera, have a couple of questions,

 

1. The handling feels loose, and sometimes it feels wobbly, what is causing this?

2. My mainstand is also loose. now when i ride, it is dangling, what can i do about this? just change the spring? where to do it?

3. The rear suspension is also very soft, change the suspension or change the spring? how much would this cost?

 

Any information would be greatly appreciated. hope to join for the rides

try to get the shop to tighten your steering cone, might be worn or loose

any shops at kallang should be able to change i think. Taihin, Sunrise or future.

Stock suspension? tyr to go for a good aftermarket one. stock one will last u maybe 6 months max of hard riding.

 

Your bike is probably nearing the end of its COE? has it been renewed? How much did u pay for it? Actually, not to scare u, if u dun really know the service/abuse history, bring to a reliable shop and get it overhauled. it should serve u well after that

hi, thanks so much for the information.

 

my bike coe is until 2013. after that cannot be renewed already. have to scrap. i got it for a mere $500. I don't think i will be doing a overhaul. just want to get the above stuff done for a safe ride during the nights and weekends. Not using the bike much, just using it to go riding with my pals.

 

may i know how much does the single suspension cost? any luck with 2nd hand ones?

 

oh yah, is it difficult to tighten the steering cone? i prefer to DIY actually

Most scooter accessory shop will sell. It started way back when we first used gecko skins for mountain bike frames. The idea caught on and the shops made it into a product for sale.

 

BUt then, looks nice, not sure what the water trapped in the sponge will do to your suspension spring.

u can find the suspension cover at AUNTIE sticker shop at levender st n u can even custom it watever pic u want.....

dun waste yr money bro....u juz tighten yr steering cone n use it till it really damage,for the mainstand u juz take it off n use the sidestand n for the rear suspension will cost u ard 350 bucks for a brand new....2nd hand?u can try ask ard.......gd luck

i just got my steering cone tightened & mianstand fixed at botak's shop, my gilera side stand put already like anytime will topple, very unstable. i just changed to bitubo at botak's shop, but its 2nd hand. now it handles much better. brand new ones are the stock ones already $350? how much are brand new bitubo ones? oh yah btw, thanks for the information about the suspension covers.

oh yah, my rear drum brakes are making squeeking noises, what is causing this? really irritating. and when i corner to the left side, it seems like i'm scraping some metal, how can this be? side stand loose?

oh yah, my rear drum brakes are making squeeking noises, what is causing this? really irritating. and when i corner to the left side, it seems like i'm scraping some metal, how can this be? side stand loose?

 

for fxr models, its always the case, i changed my drum brake a few months ago and now its making sounds again, you can try tightening the screw, it does help a bit. for the scraping sound, yeah maybe its the sidestand, i can't think of anything else that could make that sound, haha..

so no need to change the drum brake pads? ahah. it doesn't seem to have any stopping power. BTW just to check, our gilera's fuel tank is only 9 liters? oh yah, i'm also looking for the small windshield, mine is currently the tall one, anyone selling theirs?
