tzm bl0ck can reb0re meh..?

i bought my bike, my block alrd rebored. another piece of metal was inserted into the block. that piece of metal can be rebored up to 4 times. i think they call it "slipped" block. at that time, my piston size was 0.5mm bigger than standard piston i think. the downside is bike overheats very fast..

tzm's bloc can rebore meh?? i asked mech in sg, they say cant.. even the the super creative mechs in JB say cant. i only know can polish...

i've already change my block 2 tymes liao.. theres no such way to rebore tzm's bloc.. if tzm's block can rebore, i no need to spend almost 500+ on bloc n piston..

aniwae i've been riding tzm for 1 yr plus nw. yet 2 tymes change of bloc, my fren 5 yrs on tzm, he change his bloc 8 tymes.. tzm is hard to jaga unless u hav e money.

the best way to jaga ur bloc n piston, 2t flow should open more, service atleast once per 2 months.. whack ur dun always whack ur bike.. but 2t flow plays a big part.

for my bike, my 2t flow i damm big.. for a full bottle of silkolene comp can only last for 4 days.. but i always go service every month coz big 2t = whole lot of carbon form.. piston will be super black..

1) TZM is born with a sensitive YPVS (Yamaha Power Valve System). Use fully-syn 2T & service yearly, or use a semi-syn 2T & service half-yearly, or use mineral 2T & service quarterly. Disobey these & you'll end up with valve problems.

2) TZM comes with a fluked YCLS (Yamaha Computerised Lubricating System). Removal of that component & bypassing the 2T straight to the block will reduce the risk of piston jams. There will be a need to reduce the 2T output at the pump if this is done, to avoid $70 fines for smoky exhaust.

3) Type of coolant is important if u commute everyday on a TZM. Send it for a flush with Thermal Flush ($15-$20), flush twice if you're doing it for e 1st time. This will remove all of the harmful sludge & toxins from your radiator system. Top it up with WaterWetter / Thermal Cover aka Racing Coolant (no need to mix w water) instead of the normal green glycol-based coolant 50-50 mix with distilled water. A cooler (not COLD) engine reduces the risk of piston jams. The radiator thermostat must be removed by e mechanic if block skimming is done (see below) so as to allow the engine to run even cooler.

4) Rec gearbox oil will be fully-syn 4T or gear oil (might be too heavy for some rider's liking).

5) Rec plug is NGK Racing Competition B9EGV ($15/pc).

6) Rec chain is RK O-Ring ($150).

7) Rec sprocket ratio is 16/47 (price included with chain).

8) TZM is born with low compression. Increase it by doing block skimming ($50), advance timing & carb tuning ($100) & your engine's performance will be at optimum.

9) Use of carbon fibre reed valves will improve throttle response ($50-$80). Even better with the racing reed block (usually marketed together with e valves, $120-$150).

10) If u plan to modify the bike, remember the Golden Ratio -> Air:Fuel:2T:Fire. When u increase one, the rest MUST be increased as according.

Follow these 10 Commandments & your experience with your new TZM will be extremely pleasurable. Always maintain emergency cash in case of breakdowns.

Y cannot bro? Whats so unique abt TZM block that it cannot be rebore?

From my experience, most mech i know dont recommend to rebore, i myself not so sure abt the reason. My encounter was the mech said the scratches too deep cannot rebore cause no point.. I think thats what they meant by cannot.

I seriously think there is something wrong with your TZM. Do u experienced power valve bar break into 2 frequently eg every 1.5 to 2 mnths. I suspect its ur Con Rod/speed bearing/or those other things that is inside the engine.. I guess u need to everhaul.. Coz i experience something similiar before but now everything is fine..

At this rate if u are going to continue these way, u will be broke dude:faint:

Dude, u also go to David? Cool. Do u service ur bike with Ba Yi? I strongly recommend u guys to go to him if got any persistence problem with ur bike n had already give up on many other mechs. But the downside is he charge very expensive. Once he sold me 2nd hand power valve bar which he claim made in Jpn for $60. The actual price for a brand new ori ones only selling at $75 at YAMAHA authorise dealer at Verdun Rd near Mustafa Centre(forget the shop name). Felt so cheated man.. But overall if u got $$$, he is a nice guy.. Got to know him from Devilish. RESPECT n Supafly, u guys know him right? Any1 knows where the hack is he now? TZM pro..
