Heyos everyone.

Just wondering, has anyone ever modified their bikes to add an oil-cooler?

Radiators are sometimes called 'oil-coolers'.

But I'm referring to the device that lets oil flow through to be cooled by the flowing air, just like a water radiator.

Some big bikes have them:

B-King

Note the smaller radiator units at the bottom of the larger one.

This is not to be mistaken with the dual-radiators like the GSXR1000 and TL1000 has. Those are normal water-radiators.

Anyone ever modded to fit one on their bikes?

u need additional oil pump, steel tube not to forget the extra radiator for the oil cooler.U also need to bore 2 hole in ur enging crankcase to mod.

The easiest way is to change bike which come with these.

This mod is easier and more suitable for dry sump bikes.

I have this mod on my DR350.

theres an easier way out.. theres this product sold online that connect in between your oil filter and the engine.. connect the pipes and radiator that came along with the product and add additional approx 300ml of engine oil.. no additional pumps needed.. do a search online.. seen alot on kubs and superfour on the road.. any bikes with external oil filter can fit..

my two babes..

yinghai is referring to this:-

If your bike is using cartridge type oil filter and has enough clearance, just buy one of these oil cooler kit.

Sandwich the adapter plate in between your engine and oil filter, mount the oil cooler, connect the hoses and done. Some higher end kits even come with thermostatic valve which act like a thermostat.

Wow.

Thanks guys.

That may just saved a lot of work.

Will look into this HEL product. If there is one to fit a K5 600-type Suzuki filter, it should work then.

Ducati Monster engine block come with an oil cooler outlet + return pipe. On the M400, where it is not needed, it comes with a short hose to return the oil.

To fit an oil cooler, gotta fabricate two hoses, and then fit an oil cooler between. Simple, because the engine block is already designed to take an oil cooler.
