haha yup you shouldn't have to wait too long for another charity event. you would be able to make it for the ride up to Kota Tinggi though. it will be in late Feb, can't remember the exact date. join the guys if you can la. i should be joining them myself if i can take leave from work.

Speaking of being asked why I ride a Vespa... I get that question too... I'm usually asked by cab drivers who see me at petrol kiosks..."eh why you ride vespa ah? You should buy harley davidson...."

Stereotypes can be pretty bloody annoying.

ang moh = harley davidson...

kos that's what you always see ard here....

never sell your vespa!!!..

and i subscribe to the always left n center lane theory...

if i know how to get where i'm going, then i keep to the extreme left except in special cases where i need to turn right etc....

but if i'm unsure how to go to my destination,i keep to the centre lane...so it's easy if i need to turn in either direction...

no matter what lane you're in, impatient drivers will always speed ahead n cut infront of you!...

i mean come on! i'm on a vespa....any driver who follows me on the road ought to have their licenses suspended.....

because they aren't smart enuf to know that i can't go any faster...

instead they tailgate...

but not all drivers...some really smart...

if follow also at a longer distance....

and apparently my "duck quack" horn doesn't work...

it used to work...

then somehow it switched high beaming my lights but no horn..

n now it just cuts out my lights n still no horn..

ahahaha..

really weird crap...

gotta have it fixed tomorrow...

airhorn!!!

garang eh!

wah,charity thing eh??

must go see see...

if free i join

Ok, just FYI.... (not angry or anything....) Don't like being referred to as an Ang Moh... Call me white. Don't want to get into a debate about whether its racist or not... I'd just prefer the term wasn't used (not nice to "name" people)

Thanks matey.... am sure you understand....

The point about the middle lane is that people don't cut up AND brake infront of you... it is much much much safer, really trust me on this one... Have a look online, you'll see that this practise is advised.

The thing I do with tailgaters (really pisses them off) is just simply slow down (don't jam brake, unless you want to get knocked off)... Just slow down until they honk their horns and overtake you... Meanwhile you can prepare some kind of verbal retort such as "******* tailgater!!!" Certain hand signals are also quite effective

hahahaha...

okok...white from now on...

hmmm..

i wont dare do that....

P plate....

i can't do nuts....

and with 3rd party insurance...

i'm at the losing end.....

well, middle lanes n i still have taxis zooming past me then cutting infront of me w/o signalling...

to each his own right?maybe i'll test your way when the weather clears up..

hope it does...

or i'm gonna have to leave my laptop at the office over the weekend

i do agree on Sharpey on the middle lane thingy....

it is the lane i ride when on vespa....

Left lane

- too many vehicles coming out from filter lanes or small roads....

- middle lane vehicle will cut in the left to turn out...

- too many of those huge trucks especially on expressway

Right lane

- impatient drivers that tailgate at high speed (anyway, that lane is for overtaking and high speed)

Sharpey - maybe it's not so much because you are white but because of your size? i mean, if you are tall and hulkish, then people will be thinking a harley would probably suit you better as opposed to a tiny vespa. haha after all, i'm sure most people know that vespas have a huge following amongst white people. every few steps i take in london, i see a different vespa parked along the street or scooting past. it's pretty amazing. i can't imagine how much more common vespas are in Italy. haha

cephelix - you should really install an air horn. it can save your life if used in near-emergency situations.

and gweester - yea do try to join us if you can. normally, we try to schedule rides so that it occurs over the weekend. that way, you either don't have to take leave at all or have to take just 1 day off work.

haha yar no gshock la if that's what you are looking for. anyway, yup i work mondays to saturdays. sometimes, i try to zhao la but all depends on whether there are enough people staffing the shop. i much prefer riding at night myself, lesser cars, can go faster, not so hot also. haha

fluffpuff, true true... am sure some people think I look pretty ridiculous on a vespa

I've been busy with work. Will try to spend more time on this thread.

Meanwhile, ride safe.
