Anyone tried riding to Bangkok?

Try to avoid at all costs. If there is really no choice, plan to enter Bangkok VERY early. I rode through at 7:30-9am on a Saturday, leaving HuaHin at 7am, and was lucky enough to have smooth traffic all the way.

Bangkok roads are actually very well thought out, just that there is too much traffic. By the way, Motorcycles are not allowed on 2nd and 1st lanes on main roads, and not allowed on elevated tollways.

Hi, I'm planning a road trip from Rantau Panjang, Malaysia, to Sungei Golok, Thailand and have a few question in mind:-

1) I need to show proof of bike ownership, can I use the printed copy of the ownership from Onemotoring website?

2) I am going to stay only in the border town of Sungei Golok, do I need additional bike insurance coverage as my NTUC Insurance already covered within 80.5 km from the Malaysain-Thai border?

3) What is the opening times of the border at Rautau Pangjang and Sungei Golok?

4) Any other advicers/suggestions?

thanks a lot!

People ask me, "Why ride bike?" I ask them back :"Why drive car?"

one of our friend here did a stunt by travelling on the elevated tollway..

had some coffee with the police and was let off with some fine and warning..

dig him out if you wanna hear his story.. very funny...
