Costing for Shadow Work

I have been having problems with my Shadow. The engine has been getting hot if I ride more than 45 minutes and the red engine temp light goes on. I took it to the mechanic and was told that the coolant pump is leaking so the engine is not getting enough coolant - which makes sense.

 

He tells me that to replace it, they would have to take the engine block out. The whole work would cost me $600+.

 

Has anyone else had this problem? Is this the right price range?

Just like in life with doctor, go get second opinion. Who knows, you might get a different prognosis .....

Yes. Bring your bike to Rosli let him check.

 

Excellent and trustworthly mechanic. Just let him do whatever he thinks need to be done. He wont chop your carrot.

So the starter of the thread, did you spend 600.00 for your shadow servicing?

The coolant block may be leakage but it may be that you do need to change a new one. some mending can be done. and cost much less.

the coolant block mended can be mended if not too serious. cost much less
