Hi all.

i need help on what to do in the following situation.

i sold my bike to a certain someone on sgbikes in late feb. agreeing on $900. $300 for three months. so just to be safe i thought i wld keep it in my carpark until he finishes the payment. but after a week. this fella wants to take the bike apparently for repainting and what nots. so i insist on riding it to anywhere he wants me to take it so that he dun ride it without insurance etc. he assured me hes not gonna do something stupid cos his father is a TP. so i met him somewhere. hand him the keys and ciao-ed. then like few weeks later he called me saying he got into accident.

WAAH jialat lah. no insurance. bike still under my name. but somehow he and the taxi uncle settled themselves. so payment got delayed. he said the uncle will compensate and hell pay me the rest. turned out he paid me another 300 only. he said another 200 i go collect from bike shop for the scrap parts. and another 100 some other time hell pay. and after all the trouble. he still doesnt wanna pay. he dun reply my smses. when i call he dun answer. only when i use some other number then hell answer. saying hell give me on his pay day. now his pay day just passed. still ignoring me.

i dunno what else to do lah. im trying to be accommodating. but pple step over my head. i thought of making a police report. wld it be a hassle? is it worth the trouble? please recommend me what to do. thanks.

Simple..... Tell him to settle the remaining amount of money or u will report police stating that he stole your bike key w/o yr knowledge.... u have his number and the police will track him down.... good luck.....

Btw, u were in the wrong too for allowing him to take the bike w/o the proper procedures of vehicle transfer...... If he were to take the bike out and kill someone in a traffic accident, u will be implicated as well legally and it will be in yr conscience as well that someone got killed caused by u indirectly......

if the bike still hasnt been transferred under his name...

u have to msg n threaten him that if he is not going to pay the last 100 bucks..

u will call the police to report lost of ur vehicle n repossess back ur vehicle since he is not able to pay that 100bucks..

Suck it n ride!

Over $100?

Perhaps you wanna try a couple more times. If he still refuses to budge, I suggest you weigh the options. Do you really wanna go through the hassle of legal recourse over $100. If you can do without the money, then let it go. I believe in karma and what goes around, comes around.

Perhaps you may wish to do a community service in sgbikes also and warn the other bikers to stay clear of any dealings with this cheeky fella?

i think the bike has been scrapped for spare parts already. So how can the guy be in possession of the bike? Police got nothing left to track other than the taxi driver with a statement that he had accident with that buyer. Then it will implicate you because in the first place how come he riding your bike for so long and got into accident then you weeks/months later then report stolen?

lol seems like a die die situation. And u really believe his father is TP? then my Father is wong can sing! if he refuses to return u the money there is nothing u can do too other than thru illegal means (threat, beating) or legal (lawyer over $100??? SIAO AH!)

Followiing is possible scenerio of your so called buyer.

1) He took your bike for joyrides, which looks to be the case here.

2) He is not covered with insurance or probably a licence.

3) He may claim that the accident is settled, but you, as the owner of the bike, with your insurance in question, ever checked properly that it was in the clear?

4) It's $100/- But it looks like you need to scrap the bike and there is further paperwork required that will require $$$$. Have you checked on your bike at the bikeshop yet? Was there approval from yourself to scrap the bike? How about the remaining fees of getting that bike to and fro the workshop? Who is paying for those?

From the story describe looks like a shady deal....I guess the person wans to scrap the bike for parts and sell off. Like that more money gained. From my point of view that it.

How did he managed to scrap the bike if the bike has not been de-registered yet? I thought the owner needs to give person for such transaction?
