look nice how much is that ?

The eBay listing for the suit rack is here. 99 Pounds + 10 Pounds shipping (>$300 SG).

We can probably come up with a design ourselves and get a metal shop to fabricate it for a fraction of that price. We don't need a mechanical engineer to come up with it. :cheeky:

VoLcAnO - Did you buy the Clover RC100 I referred you to in the end?

I came across another interesting topic recently and I think it belongs to the race suit thread.

How many of us wear back protectors when we go to track? I don't mean those foam pads that came with your suit. I mean something like the following...

http://www.newenough.com/product_pictures/a/armor_alpinestars_tech_series_back_protector/medium.jpg

I can probably assume that nobody wears it on the street. If you wear something like this on track, can you share which make / model and the price / place you bought it?

Touch wood, but I realized that one highside is all you need to paralyze you for life.

After my highside last year i've always worn one to track. Can still see a faint patch of bruising+slight pain and it's been almost 10 months. Got the Dianese one from JR, retail price $300 if i remember correctly.

Bro, can help us ask if your uncle is willing to make it? I am very very interested to get one. I have nowhere to hang my suit at home. I am sure you will need one too. And since it's your uncle, we can ask him his professional opinion, and we can also modify the design to better suit our needs (like add a place to hang gloves, etc).

Fortunately, you are still okay and riding. I think I am going to get a good CE-approved one. There are two kinds currently. One is similar to the one in the picture, aka hard armor plates over foam (CE level 1). The other kind is honeycomb rubber and foam. Apparently the latter kind is lighter, more flexible and has better energy absorption ability (CE level 2).

Yes the Dianese one has a honeycomb construction, the added bonus of is also better ventilation.

After reading so many posts, I'm having a headache now.

I'm looking for a brand new 1-piece suit for track and kinda interested in alpinstar over at Regina.

Where is JR shop btw?

I ended up getting the honeycomb kind, CE level 2 approved. Joe Rocket Speedmaster (aka TPro Forcefield Sport) back protector. I got a discount and free shipping on it, so yeah. :thumb:

JR is along Serangoon Road.

No harm trying Alpinestar stuff at Regina. I just have no doubts about the service. The product quality is definitely there.

I don't work for Chiap Lee, but I find that the service there is better, and that you can get the Clover RC-100 for a much better price than any Alpinestars 1-piece suit unless you have some special lobang.

It doesn't have to be "all in the past". You still have the choice. But I respect your decision anyway.

My choice is to put it in the past, at least for now.

I can see that you have improved a lot. Your leaning posture is classic.

Well done Rhema.

Well done Rhema.

I hope you are having a good time as well! As long as you are enjoying what you do, I am happy for you, friend. You are probably still as busy as ever, but I am sure we will get to meet up again some day.

Thanks for the compliment but I don't think I am worthy of it yet. It's embarrassing, but when I showed my signature pic to Keith Code on his SBK School forum, he immediately noticed major problems, and patiently explained them to me over a week's discussion. I have yet to take the theory into practice, but it was a revelation for me.

Nope. I use the New Enough pictures because they are clearer. I bought mine from Metric Bikes. I got my gloves from them and gave them a good review. So when I enquired about the back protector, they offered a good deal and free shipping.

Anyway, I have received the back protector and tried it on. It is light, thin, comfortable, and tough. Definitely a good buy, plus it is cheaper than more famous brands (like Alpinestars and Dainese) but offers a higher level of protection.

It's a static picture not a movie, and taken from front view, i cant point out anything bad about it at all. If anyone can, plse explain to me.

Guess it's becos i'm no Keith Code. hahahaha

We're getting :offtopic: already. But in a nutshell, my body's centerline is not parallel to the centerline of the bike, and my head should be near the left mirror.

Let's get back on topic of race suits...

Yes, that's true but only if your lean angle is quite far out, meaning that your speed is much higher, can you'll acheive that more naturally.

The one thing I can tell from your pic..you are going quite slow and scraping your kneepads seem to be the priority so body definitely wont be parallel to bike.

sorry...offtopic indeed

You are quite right. I was still new to kneedragging that time. :cheeky: Now I know that hanging off too much can actually slow you down. I am supposed to go at it faster and achieve the right lean more naturally as you've said.

There is some relevance to the topic, though. Knee sliders are actually not cheap to replace. One set can cost more than $30US, especially the ceramic race spec ones :giddy: Better don't slide on the knee unless necessary.
