Philip Morris & Nolan is not very happy with Stoner 3 race withrawal.

Don't be surprise if he never come back after the 3 race absent

Kevin Schwantz has questioned Casey Stoner's decision to sit out three MotoGP races this summer as he attempts to recover from his ongoing health problems.

Stoner first complained of fatigue at the Catalunya GP back in June and, after struggling through the next five rounds, decided to sit out from Donington Park in July until Estoril in October to give his body time to recover.

But 1993 world champion Schwantz suspects there may be more to the Australian's situation than meets the eye.

"As a rider, my gut feeling is Casey needs to be out there competing," he said. "To just decide you're going to skip three races and see if you feel any better at the end of it, to me, is a little bit out of the norm.

"For me it's a real disappointment. Casey is a great competitor and I think maybe a little bit more of this has to do with something behind the scenes that maybe none of us quite know about yet. Maybe it's just some Stoner hard feelings towards Ducati, or towards the series or... I don't know what it could be."

Schwantz pointed to Stoner's disastrous gamble to start his last race, at Donington Park, on wet tyres on a dry track in the hope of an imminent downpour as a sign that the 2007 champion was not acting as he would expect.

"He made a tyre choice at Donington that seemed to be a little bit off of the norm," said Schwantz. "He didn't need to be making a gamble on tyres like that when he was in a championship hunt.

"For me, that kind of told me that there was something more going on with Casey than just 'I don't really feel all that good'. To have signed a contract to compete unless something is medically wrong with you..."

When asked how difficult it is to race at the highest level if motivation is an issue, Schwantz said: "If your heart is not in it, it's somewhat of a high-risk profession. Maybe you're better off going to go get a desk job, or at least stepping away from the sport. That, in my situation, is what I did.

"I sure hope that's not the case with Casey Stoner - that he's just lost interest and focus in this sport at such a young age, because he's definitely a huge draw to the series. He's been a world champion, so he obviously can ride at world championship-winning level."

yep they aren't coz the decision was made by the rider and not a team order to sit out 3 races.

he's been criticized by schwantz for doing that but the doctors applaud his brave move coz too often they see heavily injured riders go through the pain to avoid being in the same scenario that stoner is in at the moment. it's becoming like ride or die profession... stoner was throwing up in his helmet just to finish 3rd...

and ironically enough schwantz himself quit 3 races into his final season citing loss of motivation after what happened to wayne rainey...

if lorenzo seals the deal stoner is almost definitely out of that team. hayden should be staying on coz surely marlboro would really want at least 1 american rider to represent them

i dont think its Vermeulen decided to leave, but rather its because Suzuki did not give him a ride

it's very much the other way around... nobody's won or get close to his records on that gsvr

with Suzuki already signed Bautista and with contract negotiations with Capirossi, its just making Vermeulen look good by saying he is leaving

its good for him, because he needs a better ride to compete at the top but dont think he is going to get it at motogp though.

he should go to WSBK, and battle with Haga and Spies (if he doesnt go to motogp)

well, if lorenzo moves, there is also a factory spot in yamaha left. wont be surprised to see edwards filling the spot.

but there is also vermulen, elias, stoner(if out of ducati), randy depuniet(recently performing), and hopefully ben spies.

yeah, there is talk to move edwards to factory yamaha, so that Spies can spend one year at tech 3 then move up later (cos new motogp rules say that new rider cannot go straight to factory team, must spend one year in satellite team). Bautista can go straight to Suzuki factory team cos they dont have a satelite team.

would be awesome to see Spies on a factory Yamaha.

i would really love to see lorenzo stick at Yamaha and really give rossi a run for his money instead. spies would need time to get up to motoGP winning speed and by that time rossi might have retired

Yes lah..I'm a HUGE Lorenzo Fan..heheheheh

Plus these 2(rossi & Lorenzo) have been kicking ass with the Yamaha M1...

But would be excellent to see wat Spies can do with the M1(Tech 3 or Factory Yamaha)

Hmmm maybe Dorna should really consider letting Non-prototype Machine in..

Then we can have more riders in & teams in the starting grid..

Heeheheh..WSBK will be soooOOoo PISSED!!!:p

Some rider are fast but still find it hard to get ride is because they are not good for promotion & don't develop bike well, only know how to turn throttle

Rossi is best for both

nope i am from the rossi era, about same age as him  he was my first hero and inspiration during his nastro azzuro 500cc GP days up to the honda repsol 990cc days...

but then i heard of and saw racing videos of schwantz and rainey (and some other legends) and i read rainey's inspiring book about racing, politics of the paddock and life's ups n downs...

then i realised racing is not just about rossi alone and how i would watch the others ride as well looking out for the things they do on track, how they brake, turn exit etc...

Lorenzo lan lan stay at Yamaha.

The offer Yamaha make was like "take it or leave it", he tried elsewhere but no taker

Lorenzo decided to choose title over money. Ducati was offering him a huge carrot but in the end I guess he didn't want to make a gamble there and flop, when he is more likely to win much more with Yamaha M1. only tough thing for him to swallow would be that he earns 4 mils whilst rossi earns 14 mils, and Ducati was apparently offering between 6-8 mils...
