Mine is from PML. There is currently no test riding of this bike at PML. Because all the models are recalled back to fix the con rod problem. First 1000km servicing is free with PML. Yet to service my bike so not sure what the charges are like.

You want "scary" servicing charges? Try DUCATI.. :faint:

Hourly labour charge at $60 on top of your parts purchase. 15mins also they charge $15. "Sweat"

I've heard of pml charging per hour too. =X

Its also pretty upsetting to know the single seater cowl cost a hefty amount too =(

Single seater not necessary - use that same money for tires.

If you need to however try overseas - somewhat more affordable.

Get that free 1000km service and get the bike unlocked.

Try to get as many kilometres within your warranty period.

The oil change interval periods are not too bad.

And if you need to know much the service cost send me a pm.

Hopefully you dont have the pesky switchgear issue I have.

The best thing you can do is just ride.

Running in the best road would be the back roads with plenty of throttle modulations.

For day ride you got two option:

Desaru - with the new EDL and new highway its fast but dull

Mersing - the EDL and new highway gets you as far as ulu tiram. From there its a good 100km to Mersing on undulating roads.

I should be giving Mersing a go this coming Saturday (14 July).

If anyone is keen let me know.

hi all, s1000rr rider here. what you all mean by con rod problem and recall anmd gear change prob ? please enlight

BMW is issuing a recall on the 2012 S1000RR because of a risk of engine failure. The connecting rod bolts may loosen and fall out. This may cause the engine to seize, creating the risk of a crash. The problem may also cause the engine to leak oil directly in front of the rear wheel, potentially reducing traction.

I suppose the problem has been fixed because i heard some of the riders collecting back the bike.

Was at Shanghai Dolly on sat and saw a guy next to my table wearing the blue Alien head S1000rr t-shirt. Went up to him and got to know he rides the 2012 model black colour. Didn't say much after that, and later he disappeared. Hmm...

No worries - you got 2 years warranty. Anything goes wrong just blame the rods!

Actually the most irritating item will be the switches - Im already on my fourth starter switch!
