Chelsea and United go head-to-head for Villa

Chelsea will make a £33million bid for Valencia's super Spanish striker David Villa - but he would rather go to rivals Manchester United. Roman Abramovich has approved a mega bid for the hitman who will be sold by his hard-up club in the next transfer window, and a top agent has been brought in to do the deal. The Stamford Bridge outfit are planning the raid and hope to have their transfer ban lifted or suspended to let them bring the superstar to London at the second attempt. However, the Villa camp have revealed that they have already turned down Chelsea once - in the last window - and the player would still prefer to go to United. A source close to the star said: "David was approached about the Chelsea move in the summer but did not fancy it. He was not sure how often he would play or whether they played his style. Manchester United is his first choice in England, but there is a problem with that because of the price and his age. If it can be agreed with Valencia he would sooner go to Old Trafford."

The Daily Mail claims United will offer £12million to Schalke for German international goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who Sir Alex Ferguson allegedly sees as the perfect long-term successor to Edwin van der Sar.

 

Meanwhile, former United star Cristiano Ronaldo is not relishing the prospect of facing the Reds in this season's Champions League. The Real Madrid winger is quoted by The Times as saying: “I don’t want to play United [in the knockout rounds] — they’re a very strong team and I have many friends there. I played for six years at Old Trafford and have many friends at the club, but maybe if we met in the final it would be good. It will be very difficult if we play against United but to be honest I don’t want to play them."

No wonder yesterday i had a sweet dream sia. Same like last season, beat the big 4 but lose to others. ...

 

sounds boring!!!!! Rafa seems to lost the plot.

 

gd win , great debut frm obertan .. i think he has done more in his short 15-20 mins compare to nani in the 1st half ..

Obertan first debut was quite nervous. he needs a few games to gain his self back like what he ws in Bordeaux.

too bad. if Rafa does not sell Alonso, i guess Liverpool still hv a chance. Their rotation system sucks big time. but now Torres injured for 2 mths & how they gonna cope with that.

yeah 3-3 draw. luckily they scored in the end if not it would been the first defeat at home in the ucl since AC milan's defeat in 2005.

great game of attacking football .. defensively its was woeful .. i tot macheda had a great european debut .. fabio fail to deal with their right winger most time .. DC pairing not fantastic either ..

but most impt we qualify !! unlike the fools .. haha ..

Ferdinand is NOT fit for the Chelsea clash. Who do you think SAF will choose to partner Vidic? Unlike Pool, Chelsea have 2 strikers that are dangerous and in form. Between Evans and Brown, I rather have Evans simply becos of his disciplinary record. In this type of game you do not want to go a man down.

Drogba is a great player but his spastic acting really overshadows it. Check out his leg shaking antics after evans kicked him. Who knew a kick could give you fits?
