my bike condition same like lyu....

 

can start every morning, but when i ride 1/2 hour... and swithc off the bike...

i can't start that bike immediattely.... sound like battery 'kong'

 

but if i wait for 15-25 min... then the bike can start like usually...

 

someone pleasee........er er er..

 

need to check plug? lamp?

just change a rectifier...but still same...

your cant start meaning? tell us more. like when you switch on again, "N" light on or totally no batt? when you press start your bike, any sound? if its just tick tock sound, unable to start, its your rectifier, what rectifier you change to? if bike starter motor sound normal but just unable to start, try pull choke see what happen. think its not easy to troubleshoot unless you tell us more. what bulb you using for headlight? find a voltmeter, test your volt when bike is started w/ headlight on. see whether it can charge till around 14v on "N"

when my bike rode for 1/2hr then off. if start again, need to throttle "abit" when press start.

where you stay?

bro yoshi, does warm up play a very important part? asking cos just now i let it warm up for 5mins+, sound better alot. dont know its just luck, but will try warm up these few days to see whether its just luck or important.

bro yoshi, did you go to the recent sbf event? saw a CF fairing bike there @ racewerk. what bike was that? 500cc bike? 2 exhaust @ the side. seems to me like the bike model you riding.

Back from Camp duties. Just collected my bike today. It feeeeeels awesome to ride G4 again. When's the next outing? i need someone to give me advice on my bike. i'm a totally clueless about my bike.

what spare part so hard to find? first time i hear of this.

Hi Everyone.

 

Im thinking of upgrading from my current bike to the gsxr 400. The workshop i usually service my bike at, is willing to sell me an FK plate for 2 thousand odd. Ive been trying to read as much of this thread before posting, so please correct me if im wrong :) I understand that maintenance will be similar to other 400cc bikes like the cb and cbr, and also that maintenance is important since its an old bike. Haha really old. But im replying to this post, cos im quite confused. Wasnt the last batch to be produced in the late 90's, like 1996? If so, i was thinking spare parts might be ex and hard to find! Well unless they are manufacturing spare parts for this model still. Any advice is appreciated!

maintenance is almost same. but wear & tear inside you wont know. if you get a bike with alot of wear & tear parts to change, gota spend until you give up & a bike with most wear & tear changed, its totally different. always remember, the risk of getting an old cheap bike is not where to get spareparts as spore got a few suzuki agent, so bikeshop can get from them. why dont you try bro squid's g4? Thanks for the advice Ben. I didnt know that suzuki agents still have parts for g4! And you're right. Even though i trust my workshop, i guess its still a gamble. I shall take up your idea in the meantime, thanks! :)

change original rectifier - but 2nd hand

dont understand what's "when start the bike sound like battery "kong""

rectifier can charge doesnt mean its ok. mine was like that, can charge but sometimes unable to start. you should go for a busa or S4 rectifier. their used parts may be newer than g4's used part. you never know your 2nd hand part is how long ago. maybe 10yrs ago used liao?.. lol.

bro, this bike as hobby not cheap. i spent more than $2k on it liao.

if got light but unable to start, think nothing to do with batt liao.

starter motor? i need to know your so call batt kong.
