Hi ppl, would like to sell my GSXR 400 but somehow i can't post a thread on the garage sales. Here are some details of my bike:

 

FM plate

COE till 31 Mar 2014, registered 01 Sep 1994

color: black with orange decal.

 

Additional information:

Bike fully stock, with some scratches to the fairing from previous owners.

Engine i would say is a 9/10. Throttle response is still excellent.

Top speed i've tried is 200km/h on NS highway, this bike has been to track ONCE under my ownership.

I don't use the bike for transport so lots of thread on the tyres.

 

Asking price is $1,300.. Bike can be viewed at bedok area, preferably at night or wkends.

 

Contact number is 97512028.

 

Pls let me know if you guys have any frens interested in this gixxer!!!

Hi Guys,

 

Been a Gixxer rider for dunno how many years. riding an 96 gsxrr 400 should be p model!

 

Anyway anyone knows or selling fairing had an accident 3 years ago due to power addiction. haha..

Hello again G4 riders. can i check with you guys sth. im been reading and this bike like cannot find first hand spare parts isit? must like buy 2nd hand parts from ppl to reuse them? is it true? like if i wanted to do some changing of parts will cause it to use 2nd hand from scrapped bikes or sth

hmmm depends on what kinda parts you want?

sometimes its those parts which are not worth buying first hand thats y 2nd hand parts( example foot pegs) are of much use in this kinda situation.

parts like CDI ect. got first hand . all get from suzuki dealers is the best

help bike is sick again , any of you guys could tell me the problem?

 

ride to work on a thursday.after 10mins of riding started to rain heavily.rode past quite a few large puddles of water ( water splashing upwards).

20 meters away from my company.kena one red traffic light when moving off from there, i had to twist my throttle more then usual to get the bike rolling . throttle response quite bad.

once reach company , clutch in slow down , engine stall. tried to start it back on with a little difficulty.once i park(no shelter) i didnt off engine. i tried to rev abit open & closing throttle simultaneously.then i off.

2hrs later i come out to start my bike . it started and within a few secs it died.fuel cock wan on and volt metre reflected normal voltage ,i tried to start it again and intened to rev upon starting.the moment i twist the throttle , instantly engine stalled .i tried 3 times same results.i then push bike to shelter to let her dry.another 2 hrs later i came out and start the bike agian.this time could start and maintain .but the part was as it was idling the exhaust ppipe was giving out white smoke. i then rev 2.5k to 4k rpm till the white smoke finished up then i turned it off.

this morning as i was riding home from work similarly raining day,but this time i ride quite fast like 120 all the way,at all points of riding.my usual rpm from 1.0-1.2krpm,but this time round it idled at 0.5.

 

thanks for reading my short story . any way guys let me know please. i wana know if its the water seep in the fuel take or spark plug kena water or wadever. exlperts please lend me you IQ and share with you ur experience in trouble shootin probs for the g4

white smoke means water is in somewhere. could only be condensation, no big deal. if its there always, check your radiator, coolant water could have leak in, head gasket damage. water in tank is quite impossible. to test whether water leaks into your sparks plug cover, start the engine, let it run for awhile then spray water @ the sparks plug. if rpm goes down, means water went in, wet your plugs. after awhile it'll be normal as water dries up.

to know whether your bike is running rich as you said you rev it then off, after awhile you tried again, it stalled & rpm drop. high rev your bike, if black smoke from exhaust, its running rich. if your bike is running rich, dont try to warm it up by high revs then just off it, it'll make it worst. wrong idle screw settings & leaky o-rings let too much petrol into plugs, make it black & sooty, unable to burn off. check your plugs, see what color. i've been there, i know.

bro squid, its not easy as i thought. bike is still down. once started, rpm shoot to 8k. think its air leak or throttle valve. will try it out again on tues. hope i can overcome this issue w/o pushing it to workshop.

call guan hoe & confirm. if i'm not wrong, that time he told me around 400+. search my previous post for his contact. piston ring got sound must change asap, bro. to prevent piston jam, best is ask tow.
