Hi guys long time no see. need some opinions, if bike needs at least thousand plus to fix, do ur think its better to scrap the bike since considering to sell the bike after repair anyway... buanged 2 days back.... :cry:

i feel that if its gonna cost that much to repair, considering the unfavourable price for our bikes today, its not gonna be worth the repair unless you can manage to sell your bike for at least a thousand $$ more that your total repair cost. At least you can get back some money for the effort or else scraping the bike will bring you more cash by selling the spares that aren't damaged.

damaged parts: frnt rim, rear brake caliper broke off, exhaust damaged(nd 2 chnge oso), nd 2 respray, both mirrors, the "Y" shaped metal 2 hold the fairing bubble, signals...cant remember if got aniting else...shld b all...quoted ard 1k+- 2 repair,using old parts frm another scrap bike...

woah, sounds like a real big collision......but anyway can try to source for own parts n see if the costs will be cheaper....

hey man u must take care sounds quite serious..although normally i dun take part in technical talks..lolz..becoz i know nuts..i think 1k + repairs is so ex...the most u can sell gsxr at 2k...u take back only a few hundred...

yah man..tk care..too exp dun repair better..somemore old bike liao...repair here and there troublesome too.Not worth the effort and money to repair..but as i always sae..its up to individual..heehee

whenever we buy tyres we look at model of the tyre and some useful experience

from our riding and fellow riders

but there is something to look out for

some might know and some might not know

 

WHEN A TYRE IS MADE FROM FACTORY ITS LIFE IS ONLY 2YRS

AFTER THAT ITS CALL SUB STANDARD

USUALLY MICHELIN AND BRIDGESTONE WILL RECOLLECT THE TYRES AFTER 2YRS

ITS A PRACTICE STRICTLY FOLLOWED IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

AFTER THEY COLLECT IT THEY EXPORT IT

THATS WHY SOMETIMES U HEAR SOME GOT IT CHEAP

AND WORST SOME SAY THE PERFOMANCE IS SO BAD WHILE WAT U USING IS THE SAME AND THE PERFORMANCE IS GOOD!

 

HOW TO IDENTIFY THE TYRE?

ITS EITHER IN THE LEFT OR RIGHT

I M USING A BATTLAX TYRE 090 {0604}

THIS MEANS ITS THE 6TH DAY OF 2004

IF LETS SAY {12503}

ITS THE 125TH DAY OF 03
