Red Line WaterWetter®[/COLOR]

WaterWetter® is a unique wetting agent for cooling systems which reduces coolant temperatures by as much as 30ºF. This liquid product can be used to provide rust and corrosion protection in plain water for racing engines, which provides much better heat transfer properties than glycol-based antifreeze. Or it can be added to new or used antifreeze to improve the heat transfer of ethylene and propylene glycol systems. Designed for modern aluminum, cast iron, copper, brass and bronze systems. Compatible with all antifreezes, including the latest long-life variations.

Purple Ice® is a high performance, synthetic, radiator coolant additive for both gasoline and diesel engines. It is formulated to reduce the surface tension of the coolant, which improves heat transfer through the cooling system while providing additional protection against rust, corrosion and erosion.

Purple Ice® prevents the formation of scale deposits in the radiator for optimum coolant flow and lubricates the seals of the water pump. It is ideal for use in straight water racing applications or in antifreeze / water mixtures.

Purple Ice® is compatible with traditional ethylene glycol antifreeze (green) and GM Dex-Cool® antifreeze coolants.

neh... dun have to be full. somewhere around half or slightly more would do fine.

primary coolant tank? maybe u r refering to the radiator?

some of the coolant will be running in the coolant hose etc of coz.

Gsxr 400s will require around 3litres of coolant.

i am currently doing a Mass order for Water Wetter. $20 each.

1 bottle of Water Wetter is about 355ml. which can treat up to 18litres of water.

i flush it once a year and top up with a capful once every 3 months.

maybe u can get a bott or share it with someone?

see if ya interested then can do the flush with us end of this month?

cheers

No need, juz ensure the amount is somewhere between the high and low marking of the reserve coolant tank.

Well bro, u need to take off the tank in order to access the main coolant tank, as for the correct amount, i guess it's abt 2l or watever so, for my case, I just pour until full and do slight rev on the engine to clear off the bubbles/air. Close cap. Coolant from the reserve tank will then flow in.

Yeah its me again. kakakaka.

just tot of sharing this little article on importance of takin care of cooling system

The Importance of Coolant Replacement

Had the coolant changed in your motorcycle lately?

Coolant in many motorcycles is horribly neglected. Various studies have concluded that about a third of all vehicles have coolant that needs attention. This attention being either coolant addition or coolant replacement.

If the coolant level is low, it's easy enough to fix. Just top it off and go, right? Not necessarily.

Even if the coolant is still electric green and appears as if it is new, it could be devoid of the corrosion-fighting additives that are most important to the health of your cooling system.

The rate of cooling system corrosion is determined by a single factor: the acidity of the coolant. If the coolant remains alkaline, corrosion is inhibited. But if it breaks down and becomes acidic, the coolant begins to eat away at the interior of the cooling system. The long-term effects of old, acidic coolant in the cooling system can be detrimental to a motorcycle's overall condition. How? Coolant neglect causes corroded and mineral clogged radiators, eroded aluminum cylinder heads, eroded water pumps, seals, and housings, rotted radiator hoses, blown head gaskets and chronic overheating. Sounds expensive, doesn't it?

Having too much antifreeze in the cooling system actually robs your motorcycle horsepower in two ways. How? Antifreeze's viscosity (a liquid's thickness) is much greater than water's. Meaning, if there is too much antifreeze in the system, then the water pump has to work harder in order to push the same amount of fluid. If the water pump is working harder, the engine is working harder and less efficiently. And for many of us, any significant decrease in crank horsepower is just unacceptable. Too much antifreeze in the cooling system also does not transfer heat as efficiently as a proper mixture. Consequently, higher running temperatures are a result. Definitely not a good thing!

Changing the coolant doesn't just mean draining the radiator and refilling it either. Doing just those two things may leave a substantial amount of the old, acidic coolant, which is also contaminated with minerals and impurities, within the engine and the cooling system components. A complete coolant change entails draining the radiator, back-flushing the entire system, then adding a correctly balanced 50/50 mixture of fresh distilled (or de-ionized) water and fresh water addictives, and pressure testing the cooling system.

hi there,

for the reserve coolant tank, just ensure that the amt inside is between the low and high marking on the tank. It's a bit difficult to see the markings from inside pillion seat, instead, look from under the right hand side(pillion foot peg area)

the radiator cap to the radiator is under the fuel tank, you'll need to remove the tank to access it. :) you may wanna get some help to do this this as the fuel hoses can be a wee bit tricky to remove/replace for a first timer

Cheers

oppss...slow reply. others beat me to it :cheeky:

If you are gonna do a coolant change soon, then you can temporarily top up the reserver tank 1st with water. Please do use distilled water(can buy frm petrol station, comes in nice squeezable bottles IIRC :D ). maybe get somethin to cover the coolant tank opening 1st while you are sourcing for the cap replacement.
