KNT offer good tuning...if i didn't remember wrongly..for tuning alone should be around $40..but its worth the price...my brother did it for his fireblade...very steady idling and much easier to start...of coz better power too

Bro, as for the viscosity of oil to use, most new engines today require a multiviscosity 5W-30 oil for all-round riding. The lighter 5W-30 oils contain friction reducing additives that help improve fuel economy, and also allow the oil to quickly reach critical upper valvetrain components when a cold engine is first started. Most engine wear occurs immediately after a cold start, so it’s important to have oil that is thin enough to circulate easily -- especially at cold temperatures.

For older engines like our GSXR400 and ones that are driven at sustained highways speeds during hot weather like when we take long road trips up to Malaysia, 10W-30 or 10W-40 is a good choice. Heavier multi-viscosity oils such as 20W-40 are for high rpm.

Thicker oil holds up better under high temperature (which it does), increases oil pressure and reduces oil consumption in high mileage engines. But 30W and 40W oils are too thick and may make an engine hard to start. They may also be too thick to provide adequate start-up lubrication to critical upper valve-train components during morning cold starts.

For the ultimate in high temperature protection, durability and all-round performance, fully synthetic oils are the way to go. Fully synthetic oils improves performance in virtually every aspect. Just my opinion...

omg..like reading course notes man..thats kinda detailed...haha..i'm using maxima extra 10W40...serves me well...choosing it in terms of better power and acceleration...personal opinion is using a thinner EO will produce better power and faster acceleration...thicker oil is more durable

Bro I think K&T tuning affordable and quite good oso. The boss(Clifford) really knows his stuff on G4. He charged me $40 for tuning using the computer. But then he also recommend me use normal denso spark plug instead of iridium ones. Kinda confused here coz i thought iridium should be better? Btw my uncle say g4 use petrol 92 better coz during his time (1992) the best petrol is 89 octane which most of the sportsbike back then were using.Any comments from experienced g4 riders on petrol?

ya ... denso spark is better den iridium ones ... i wanted to change iridium ones last time but my mech say its better to use denso since i guess he said if using iridium one for g4 ... might spoil more easily so no point changing hmmm quess so

haha...i think overkill leh..and guessed wat..since we are talking about the octane level of the petrol we should use...i went to read up on it..and i abstract the key pt the i read

So what¹s the downside of using too high an octane fuel? Higher cost with no

benefits is one. The second is that higher octane fuel in an engine designed

to operate at a lower octane rating can cause carbon deposits secondary to

partially unburned (slower burning) fuel. If your engine pings on regular,

try a plus grade. Your results may change with different brands of fuel and

the hotter the weather the more likely your engine will start to ping.

As an example, the Ducati 916 has a compression ratio of 11:1. Regular

leaded is the recommended fuel. The recommended 91 RON minimum octane equals

about 87 (R+M)/2 octane labeled on US pumps. Ducati owners have reported

that regular grade gas gives them better street and dyno performance than

premium grade. The reason is that more of the fuel is burned.

The bottom line is ... for best performance use a fuel rated as close to the

manufacturer¹s minimum rating as possible. If it pings, use a plus grade.
