I'm a firm believer of paying a premium for something that is of better quality and not settling for something of inferior quality.

But then again, LV is overrated coz most ppl only know this brand

Expensive is relative to a person's income.

 

If you're a businessman or lawyer bringing home a 5/6 figure income per month, then a Gucci is chump change.

 

If you're a storekeeper barely bringing home $2K, then a Gucci is an almost unjustifiable, unimaginable extravagance.

 

Everything is relative.

 

 

That being said, some ppl are willing to save half a year for their LVs or Pradas, and it's their call.

 

After all, we don't really need $20+K CL2 bikes in Singapore, do we? But we still buy them anyway.

And some sub 2K earners also do, on low DPs and high interest long period loans.... so isn't it LPPL??

For me, branded or not branded not important, as long got hard cash many many inside the wallet is more important... No point carrying an expensive branded wallet, inside no money lol.. in short, cut your cloth according to your size

 

Even if somebody gave me an unbranded wallet or imitation one, , I will still be very happy and treasure it as much

I've a friend who buys many designers' bag, wallet, etc. But he doesn't have a car nor a bike, he told me that this in comparison, using 3 months of my fuel expenditure, he could afford another wallet. Think of the things he could get with the money pumped for the bike's installments, insurance, servicing, etc.

 

End of the day, it boils to interest/passion and the priorities set. You can never compare apples to oranges. AND that is the reason why I buy BOTH apples and oranges..

Hmm...i think that is not totally wrong to say FAKE=not original=aftermarket.just that we cant use the terms comparing a BAG n BIKE's. M i right to say so??

 

Fake R1 08 knock off exhaust has its china brand,McCoy carry their brnads and are more popular and certainly better than fake but it is still not original.so the terms are somehow correct but wrong to apply on BAGs & BIKEs.

We can phrase tat FAke /aftermarket = not original but not

fake=not original=aftermarket becoz our concept of fake are not = aftermarket due to we have already fixed fake is china knock off and aftermarket is McCoy.so if we delete off the brands and fixed concept,we get fake=not original= aftermarket only if we are not brand consious.

I think you should steer clear of the "Fake=Not Original=Aftermarket" argument because from the start you had the concept totally wrong.

 

Fake = Imitation Goods. i.e. a $30 Bag with Gucci/LV emblems, but is obviously NOT a Gucci or LV.

 

Aftermarket simply means not OEM. And not OEM does not mean not Original.

OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer.... meaning

e.g. Stock Yamaha/GYRT exhaust for a Yamaha bike, or a Honda/HRC part for a Honda bike.

 

Aftermarket = A product/accessory built under license or otherwise by a 3rd party manufacturer.

You put on an ORIGINAL Leo Vince pipe, it is still an ORIGINAL AFTERMARKET product.

 

 

 

Or let me twist the concept around.

 

You wrap your ORIGINAL HONDA STOCK pipe with some fake carbon fiber looking wrap and stick a Yoshimura sticker on it... your ORIGINAL Honda pipe automatically becomes a FAKE Yoshi. :lol:
