i bet you are 1 of the first here to own a Derbi..

you might wanna check out supermoto.sg too..

even during running in, you should be investing on stuffs like hand guards, sliders, case shields to protect your bike..

i'm shifting this to Supermoto section as it's a Motard!! :D

Not too sure about its stock tires. You can take a look at them and ask around to see if they are good for gripping the tarmac. If its still ok, then its your call to either use them until next change or have them replaced with better ones. Safety is the main priority in this case. (For me, I am not so particular about outlook first)

lol.. okok.. anyway, still noone guide me on the running in thing sia..

i reali need some advise on running in for my SM.. thanks so much!!

Do not load the engine in low gears.. ie 1 or 2. Don't drag these gears.

To really set in the piston rings (which is really what running in is about) drag till close to redline before upshifting only on gears 3, 4, 5 or 6 if you have.

If you go riding around on half throttle like what they recommend in the owners manual... your bike will never be run in.

To give you a reference... on my little Y125Z race bike with new piston and block, the run in is....5 laps or about 5 km pulling the gears up to just before the redline... ie 10,000 rpm. After 5 laps its all the way to 11,000 or 13,000 rpm before upshifting from 3rd ,4th ,5th and 6th gear.

The bike is run in already. This is the hard run in method, something I do with all my other bikes.

Not many people dare to do this kind of run in coz they too sayang their bikes.
