2 places to adjust.

1) The screw at the joint connecting your clutch lever to the handlebar and

2) Some point along your clutch cable nearing your engine.

Some people prefer the biting point to be near, some prefer it to be far. I like my far. 3/4 release = biting point. I have large hands. :p

the onli location to adjust is the screw at the clutch lever..

check for leakage of the fluid at the section where the hose connected to the engine..

Bro... Husqvarna's have a known hydraulic clutch problem. Certain hydraulic clutch use Magura pistons, some use Brembo... some use the Japanese ones. Some models can only use with mineral oil, some can only use brake fluid.

You put normal brake fluid into a clutch that uses mineral oil... standby for deteriorating clutch pistons and when the piston and O rings get attacked by the non compatible fluid...the clutch lever action becomes spongy... resulting in poor clutch disengagement which is the symptoms he is describing.

It is important to know what kind of bike model unless he can tell us the brand of clutch master pump that he has.

Not all hydraulic clutches are the same. :sian:

Brake fluid level drop usually due to worn pads.. Clutch might be due to leaking piston or leakage somewhere..

Learnt something today.. Thanks..

TS,I bought mine at Shell station.. Dot4.. Most bike shop carry them too,but Shell is nearer to my place so I got it there.. I saw some at Giant supermarket, but they are Dot5 I think..

Edit. The one I saw at Giant is Carlube Dot5.1. Did a Google and read at a Ducati forum that 5.1 is compatible w Dot3 and 4.. Dot5 is NOT.. Please correct this info if it's wrong

If you find you need to top up alot of fluid, check for a leak at your clutch slave.

If there's a leak, it is usually a good idea to refresh the surfaces of the slave and piston when you are changing a new seal. Super fine grit sandpaper will do.

Some guys use large size heat shrink tubing on their clutch slave pushrod to reduce the amount of road grit accumulating. Significantly increases the intervals in which the slave needs to be serviced.

No prob.. there are no secrets nowadays. If you research hard enough, the knowledge is all out there.

In fact, most of customers are knowledgeable bikers and probably would know what to do if need be. but they come to us simply because a well-equipped workshop is still the best place to do repairs, rather than their own house downstairs + tool kit (sometimes, to buy a special tool to do something every 10K km is not so worth it?)

And I am glad that they know what the process and the labor involved, so they know our prices is fair and a much cheaper deal elsewhere could simply be too good to be true?

But simple stuff, to know, and maintain your own bike periodically yourself is a good habit to have.
