I drop by De xing motor last week & the mechanic was changing a punctured tyre of a VTR SP1 from a Battlax 020 to a Michelin Pilot Sport size 180/55-17. I asked the store-keeper how much did they charge for the rear tyre change only. He said,"$150/=. We clearing old stock. I almost :faint:

I asked him again,"Do u still have stock or not for it?". And he replied,"Sorry, no more". I almost

bridgestone or dunlop?

HI all, am new to all fellow bikers here....just wanna share my tots on tire options and brands. I believe most tires mentioned here have had good R&D put into them and guess all have the required DOT certifications stamped in the walls of the tires. These are tested intensively prior to release, be it on or off the track. But, come individual tire preferences, I believe we should rely more on feel and suitability of our tire choices. Comparing a pair of Metzlers to Michelins is equivalent to comparing apples to oranges. Most of us can't find the limits to the tire grip and traction riding on the streets, and we shouldn't find these limits on the streets too. We have tracks for this where we can slide and highside all we care with these different tire compounds and geometries, minus the kids' crossings, cats, dogs, mongoose and other roadkills. My point is, stick to the pair of rubber that gives you most confidence and, of course, durability. Just remember, no tire here sticks to metal sewer hole covers in the wet. Just worthy of 2 cents....Ride safe.

My family members have 3 bikes all fitted with Continental tyres.

Continental-Conti Road Attack for my CB400 VTEC II and

Continental-Conti Sport Attack For my brothers Hayabusa & ZX-9R.

Must try and you will believe how good these tyres are.

Readly no regred for this new brand - Continental from Germany.

Any reviews on the Sports Attack for track??? I'm using ContiForce Max now, seems to slide a bit for the rear, so dun really dare to push.

I hope the Sports Attack is stickier than the ContiForce Max, cuz the tech rep from Continential reply to me that ContiForce Max is more suitable for track then the Road Attack.

So far on the rd, ContiForce Max is pretty good, just that during wet weather, dun really wanna use that slick portion of the tyres.

Review from Two Wheels Only

Two Wheels Only May '04

Tester: Tim Dickson

Bike: Various

"...pitched head to head against Bridgestone 020s, Metzeler Roadtec Z6 and Michelin Pilot Road... Conti claims it offers enough grip to satisfy the demands of 'proper' performance bike riders... fast unplanned direction changes on unfamiliar mountain switchbacks proved drama free... the following day on Conti's handling circuit the Road Attacks were superb... warm up time was minimal, grip superb and stability and precision of turn-in excellent... riding a Daytona 600 I almost forgot the Road Attacks were a sports touring tyre... on the wet handling circuit the Road Attack shod Fazer 1000 was superb with the front generating a huge amount of grip and the rear having to be ham fistedly abused with the throttle in order to get it to spin up... one other factor to tempt buyers: its price, you're looking at £150 per pair."

Review from Motorcycle Sport & Leisure

MSL May '04

Tester: Simon Swan

Bike: Various

"...the Road Attack tyre benefits from a 12% larger footprint than its closest competitor which reduces stress on the tyre meaning a softer compound can be used... In my Yamaha report I complained about the bike's lack of surefootedness, and attributed that vagueness to its D252 tyres. Thankfully this point was quickly confirmed by the noticeably more grip and feedback the Contis provided, a factor that improved the machine considerably... The 20minute track session pushed the tyres to their performance limit and although the race track is not what these tyres have been designed for it was good to get them up to serious temperatures... again they responded well, very well when you consider they are sports-touring tyres... they do everything you could possibly ask of them, and do it well... what's even more encouraging is the super competitive pricing... if Continental isn't the name you might instantly think of when you're in the market for some new sports-touring rubber, maybe it's time that it is"

Conti Road Attack – Sports Touring:

Puts 12% more rubber on the road than any competitors tyre due to Dynamic Footprint Technology.

Takes sport-touring bike cornering performance & safety to a higher level.

Sticky compound with 7mm deep tread gives supersports performance and sport-touring tread life.

A serious all year round tyre choice.

Optimised multiple curvature design (MCD) gives light, responsive steering and handling.

The best looking tyre on the market!

I see Continental getting more popular....few months back when I was asking about the ContiForce Max, not a lot of riders whom I know actually knew Continental already started to make motorcycle tyres.

:thumb:

Though my ContiForce Max still pretty deep grooved from 2 track days, I'm looking forward to the Sports Attack already :slurp:
