If this is the first time you are using a DOT approved race tyres, trust me, you cannot really feel the difference if it is Power Race, Supercorsa Pro, Race Tech, RennSports, Diablo SuperCorsa.....cuz they all grip much darn well compared to the very best street sports tyres like 2CT, M3 or DC3.

I had riders using the "not so good" race tyres but doing better laptimes than me on a "very good" race tyres, lol.

Just make sure your tyres are new, fresh and properly warmed up. Hart could help you on that.

Good post bro. I learned from this.

The Diablo product line represents the synthesis of Pirelli's motorcycle-tire philosophy. Thanks to our continuous development work in racing, we have started a revolution in the world of tires, and present the results to every street rider. We race what we sell, we sell what we race.

The Diablo Superbike was the first product born in this new era. Engineers from Pirelli worked in collaboration with professional World Superbike development teams representing each of the constructors in the World Championship, ensuring that our products offer the best level of performance on every kind of motorcycle. The final result have been spectacular racing and a demonstration of the versatility of Pirelli products. But the main innovation was our products becoming available to all motorcyclists.

With the Diablo developed in the World Championship arena, its performance is of World Championship level. This tire has now moved beyond the circuit, and every day meets the needs of every-day motorcyclists. This gives all riders the highest level of performance tires approved by the actions of riders at the highest level in world racing. The significance of the Diablo is it’s a tire for all riders. This same principle has now carried on to the birth of another new product.

The new Diablo Corsa III - Three-Zone Compound - is not a tire solely for elite racers. Pirelli developed it to allow owners of modern supersport machines to draw full advantage from the benefits of Pirelli being the official supplier to the entire SBK paddock.

The new Diablo Corsa III is a link between the street and the benefits of race-track development: the Diablo III, and its three-zone compound is a tire that marries the needs of the track and the street, allied to a front offering sure and effective performance to all riders.

The Diablo Corsa III gives maximum performance to everyone; the possibility to live out every emotion on the street. In the corners or on the endless freeway, on dry surfaces as smooth and grippy as a racetrack, or on a wet and bumpy road.

The performance of the Diablo Corsa III is just as assured for the every-day customer as it is for those with the most extreme demands. It is not created only for professionals. It does not need the exaggerated lean angles allowed by its softer shoulder compounds to justify its existence.

What it serves is a rider’s passion. It brings out the best in each rider’s emotions, enhancing the possibilities of the riding experience.

Judging from your requirements, which is somewhat similar to mine, maybe a sports grade tyre would be suitable for you ? It seems like you require the grip of a race-level tyre yet without compromising the durability. My response would be "Nothing is perfect, thus you gotta give and take".

I ride a DRZSM , so i need some decent grip on the rubber and yet durability since i use it purely for commuting from my place in simei to bukit timah. Anyway its your bike's only contact point with the tarmac, so i believe you do not want to get some cheapo rubber to depend on. My list of more reputable brands are Pirelli, Metzeler, Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental etc. (maybe i left out some but of course there are some brands which i do not trust at all)

Anyway, most sports grade tyres can strike a decent balance between grip and durability. It grips more than touring tyres and yet last longer than race tyres. I personally feel that so much R&D and technology has been invested in producing better tyres now to the extent that they are pretty much the same; unless you are out lusting for performance, Eg. super grippy tyres (for track use) or super long lasting tyres (just for touring).

Hence if you are looking out for something in the middle, i think most reputable brands of sports tyres will suffice lar.

Eg, Michelin Pilot Sports, Conti Attack Sport

ps - I've heard ppl using michelin pilot power 2CT for up to 20k and its a better grade of tyres then pilot sports but yet lousier than Pilot Race 2CT.But i do not know how true it is, anyway i've slapped on a pair of Michelin Pilot Sports and it seems to be holding up well for my daily commuting, providing me with grip in both stormy and dry conditions. How long it'll last, i do not know yet. haha

I hope this would help somehow in your decision to get some rubber haha.

For commuting, try Pilot Road, or BT-021. Lasts twice as long as sport tyres, and gives better grip in the wet, more than enough grip in the dry.

Or if you really want to go budget, try Dunlop Arrowmax. Mine looked brand new after 20,000kms. Not much difference in grip from previous BT014s, at 2/3 the price.
