yeah man loving the sound, u are rite....after the TRE, it's harder to maintain rpm when starting up.....btw i got a situation....when i clutch in at neutral, my idling rpm rises by abit....dunno why?

and btw how much do i owe u for the cans man? or we share share? hehe....btw anyone here has experience getting stuff from ebay? can help mi get some stuff? i aiming the g1k5 mirrors...if they cost ard $100 hehe

when u clutch in, the bike register it self in neutral gear and it reads the neutral map.when clutch is off,it reads the gear 5/6 map,thats explains the use/presence of the TRE!

are u guys sharing the cans??the k5 mirrors will not direct bolt on to our tlr i believe.

for the k3/4 gixers, we can use the stem and mirrors to fix on our base.if u understand what im saying.

the tre cheats the ecu that it is in gear 5/6.so the ecu reads the gear 5/6 map which is not power restricted.

 

thats why the rpm goes up faster and u can wheelie much easilier with tre

 

for the mirrors,lots of stuff to be done to fix it on.if u do order one, do show us!

 

who knows i might do it too.

the lights ah...u get the lights den bring there.they will do it for about 200 bucks to be save.but get ur own lights and brakets and take out fairings out urself.

yeah u can try it in jb.not sure though.most impt u get the lights.they are not cheap if u getting projector lights.unless u see a r1'04 being scrape.

Hello TL Riders,

 

I intend to get a TLR which my friend is selling. It's a Jan 2000 bike and he intends to sell it for $7K. Is it worth it?? Bike is in good condition however some glitches with the sensor cos morning got problems starting with cold engine. Aside from that, it's a beauty...(Love the sound of the pipes & the torquey engine!!)

 

Anyway, does anyone have any lobangs for 100% financing?? I intend to get a higher loan if possible (cos I wanna change the sensor which costs $200+ and I wanna respray the bike to my fav colour) probably around the region of $8K. I'm a 31 yr old civil servant with stable income (last year $42K annual income...) I'd appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction.

for the sensor,can u tell us what sensor that is??

hard to start in the morning is a common problem.like mine.but there are many factors u have to look into for starting problems and up to the very day today, im still looking out for the solution.maybe its a + mod that i need.

yr halogen lamp u get from where ah? $$?? i think if i get projector lens i will get puig ones from bikelab lor...but weird leh....just patching up, cutting and respraying will cost 200+ ah? i wanna do the headlight like 999r leh....one projector lens below and one halogen lamp above or the other way around...dunno got space or not also.....

u need to see how big is the lamp.the endurance lamp that uses h4 bulbs from biketech are selling at abt 200.how much is bikelab selling the lamp?projector??

The TRE cause bad idling only at start up... after 1-2 min, it's ok again. Didn't notice any idle creep when clutching... if not by too much.. then it should be OK.. did you remember to turn off your choke (fast idle) lever?

 

Bro...heh heh... my endcan for you to T-loan only to try try la. I want them back for whenever I feel like making some noise.. besides.. my endcan already got a bad scrape mark...

 

If you like, I take your endcans and have it done; in the meantime, you can use mine... and I have yours if Shoei needs his back.... eh... no.. if I send yours... sorry Shoei... need to hang onto your endcans until my stock ones arrive.. unless if you need it... then off it comes.

As I mentioned.. this guy does car exhausts but he don't mind making extra bucks (who does..haha) but he don't want to have lot of bikers clashing with his cars for his workshop space.

Don't ask me who he is... really, he doesn't want to be known.

I went and asked him to do it for me cause I got quoted by someone else at "brudder" price of $460... crazy rite!!

 

For TLR (and twin pipes) buddies, he charges $350 (I try to knock price down la) to do the pair.

i tot of doing wat u mentioned too, but ended up not enough space for 2 lights one on top (& pumping?? perhaps?? haha..) of the other...

 

n i did considered the 04R1 lights too, but it seemed tat it's too broad to fit. u will need to reinforce the front fairing else it will be too weak... at least tat's wat old-man-lim said...

no aunties in MPV, no taxis (the worst-est!!) eh.. I got uncles who drive taxis.. and I tell it to em too.. everyone rides in the same direction...

if you crash...at least got run-off... won't be smashing your face against guard-rails design for cars but deadly to bikers...

and yes... can lean bike safely and use up a very very under-utilized part of your tyres..

Brother thanks for the info. I've been on that website before also cos I wanted to know more about the bike before buying it.

 

That brings me to the question of mileage. I went to suzukicycles.org and there was an article from 1998 on the TLR's review. The bike's tank is 17l + 4.5l reserve. During the review (which I presume was half the time on track & the other half on road), the consumption was 14.7 km/l. That should equate to 316 km on a full tank. However, the fella who's selling me informed that the further's he's ridden before topping up is 280 km although he says can go a bit more. Any of you guys have better mileage than what I quoted??

 

Anyway, any idea of good bike financing shops out there??
