I know of a few buyers waiting for a Domi, may I suggest you post up on the sales forum first? This way someone who really wants the bike can have one, especially when it is already so rare. Cheers!

Too late. Bike scrapped already. Owner had already stripped the bike naked when I went to view. Would have bought the whole bike... Pity.

At least managed to buy the entire fairing set, front fairing bracket and CDI...

Indeed, such a pity. There are already so few left on the roads of Singapore.

Dear all,

My friend has dominator stock parts for sale. Testing response locally before putting the bits on eBay. Nothing fanciful, just stock parts.

PM me if keen on what you want with an offer price.

Cheers

Good day everyone,

I have been getting a few PMs asking me to organize a Honda Dominator meetup. In order to get maximum results, I would appreciate some feedback:

1. I am looking to organize this on a weekday evening; I believe the weekends is family time.

2. Length of meetup would be 1.5 hours, with an expected starting time from 8pm - 9.30pm. This will allow for sufficient time to return home to prepare for the following day.

3. Location will be Al-Ameen, opposite Beauty World/Bukit Timah Shopping Centre/Bukit Timah Hill. This is because the location is central (near PIE and AYE) and the food is halal.

Please provide your feedback by 2359 hours Friday, 29 April 2011. After which I will plan the first meetup and post up precise date/time of the meetup details. As much as possible, please do not PM me as I only log into SingaporeBikes.com once a month, and I never log into Facebook nor do I use Facebook, so please don't message me there either. Thanks!

As there has been no response on the meetup, it will be cancelled indefinitely. Cheers!

Updates to those who wanted to order the main stand. Cigar Mike has completed final testing of the NX650 main stand on 24 May 2011 and is now making the stand available for order. Pictures as below. Price (if I am not wrong) is US$160 with 10% discount, not counting freight to Singapore.

Hi fellow Dominator riders. I contacted Cigar Mike for a center stand. He says his center stand is designed for US model, which has a different shape of cross bracket where center stand gets attached. If anyone has a center stand for 1994 European model so that I can take a dimension and email it to Cigar Mike. I am also looking for Acerbis Tank. Your help would be deeply appreciated.

I have a center stand on my 94 Domi. Which dimensions does Cigar Mike need?

My current stand sucks big time. Very difficult to deploy. Would love to get another one that is easier to use.

Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a retired steamfitter that started making centerstands for the bikes Cathy and I own. There was interest at the forums I belong to in the centerstands I was making. I needed something to do in my retirement and this seemed like a good hobby/ business to keep me busy. I really don't want to be too busy and this has worked out well so far. I will only make products for bikes that stands are not available from someone else. And like I said this is a hobby, that has to be a business due to the laws we have in the U.S..

There has been some interest in centerstands for the NX650 that was not imported to the States. Obviously it is difficult for me to get my hands on one of these models. It was hard enough to find a U.S. model. If you guys are willing to help out on getting me some information I will try and make a stand for the other models. I don't know what changes were made through the years on the NX650. I appears that you pretty much know everything there is to know. If you are interested in helping me design a stand let me know. I have shipped stands to Singapore, Japan, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, England and Canada. It has been fun making stuff no one else makes.

Here is a picture of an upper mounting bracket and the tubes it sits on for a XR650L.

http://i652.photobucket.com/albums/uu246/CigarMike909/XR650Lupperbracket.jpg

This picture show a modified XR650l lower bracket attached to the frame of a U.S. NX650. the legs are for a XR650L and are much longer than the NX legs.

http://i652.photobucket.com/albums/uu246/CigarMike909/001-6.jpg

You can see that the upper and lower brackets trap the cross tubes to attach the stand to the bike. I did a stand for an XR250R from a tracing of the bottom of the frame. He sent it to me to scale with the dimensions of the tubing the stand would attach to. The Honda's are so similar I was able to make a stand for the bike on the first attempt. I doubt I will be that lucky again. But it would be worth shipping one to test fit to see if I can do it.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks,

Hi ulysses. Thanks for ur response. Also very surprised and grateful to see Cigar Mike himself also responded. Here is the email I received from him.

I don't know if it will fit a 1994 model. I have looked at the parts fiche for the 94 and it looks like the angles on the angled braces on the bottom of the frame have a different angle.

*

I would need to either get a bike (which is unlikely) or get a very good tracing of the area with a few dimensions to adapt the US stand to the latter model european models. There are several owners in your part of the world that would be interested in this model. I would be happy to give it a try if I can get the information.

*

I would be willing to send one to you for the cost of shipping which can be as high as $80.00 USD. If I modify the stand a little I can get it in a flat rate box which put it in the $60.00 USD range.

*

The stand attacches to the bike on the braces on the bottom of the frame. The stand captures the cross braces. All the airr cooled Honda's have similar frames. size of tubes and angles vary from model to model. All the Honda stands attach to those cross braces.

I fabricated a stand for the XR250R by using a tracing done on a piece of cardboard. He scanned it and sent it to me with dimensions. He was able to email me the actual size. To my surprise it fit on the first try.

If we can provide him with the information he needs, we can both order and share a shipping cost.

I will ship the first one at my expense. I will make it to fit in a flat rate box. Some assembly will be required.

There is no hurry on this end. I have plenty to do.

Boys,

I recently chanced upon a great condition year 2000 NX650 pointed to me by "ulysses_sc". It is now sitting pretty in the parking lot most days but I definitely want to beef it up.

2-into-1 GPR exhaust, dynojet, large capacity fuel tanks, new aftermarket fairings, main stand... I'm all in.

I love Cigar Mike already. If he makes it, I'll buy it.

I have already sent photos of my 1991 NX650 (RD02 chassis) to Mike and seems to have no problems with his existing stands.

I suggest owners of 1993 models and above (RD04 chassis) to measure and send the photos to Mike if they want to confirm.

If you are planning to get the 2-into-1 GPR, I am planning to sell it once I order in my EGU dual exhaust. Keep me posted.

I have looked at the parts fiche for all of the NX650s and they are no help. I will have to compare part numbers. I don't know if that will help either.

If your frame looks like the pictures I have posted it should be fine. The frames that are different don't have the bend in the one tube. I think?

I don't see where there is much interest in the stand. But I am around if someone wants to look into it further.

Cheers,

Mike

I currently have a Dual Star (I think) mainstand that basically sucks. Will it help if I provide measurements and pictures of the mounting points for it? The bike is a 1995 RD08.

I would like to see a picutre of the stand and the bottom of the frame on the bike. I think my method of attachment is unique. I doubt the DS method is close. The stand takes less than a minute to install.

The interest in the US NX stand has picked up a little. I have six out now. Not bad considering there were so few imported and for a bike that is 22 years old. I wonder why nobody ever offered these before.:p
