Noted mate, I will be using her for communting & my long hual trips....

 

She running on 2.4L eO or 2.6L or ??

 

Yup eating EO due to heat should be common right??

 

I normally use 2.2L with oil filter change. 2L without. A little oil consumption is OK. How much oil is your bike burning? Exhaust has oily deposits? White smoke?

Past: KDX200, LC4 400, LC4 620, GSXR750WR

Present: CBR900RRY, Gas Gas EC250, XR250L, XR250RV, XR400 (motard-ed), NX650 Dominator

Hello Dominators...I really need advice. Just purchase Dominator 650 a week ago and the engine refused to start. Changed battery and even CDI. It didnt work out either. The old owner said that the wiring might have some problems and now bike is parked quietly at carpark. Do you guys have any idea what it could be? Pls advice...really need help.

 

My mechanic Jimmy at Mayo Street (opposite Ah Seng) has been fixing my Dominator for years, not sure if you want to send down your bike to him to have a check up.

BTW the oil filter is those kup kia type like spark 135 aka using paper filter??

 

So far when view bike all is well so should be ok...

 

My onli concern will be the spook rims as I wonder are they still usable aft such a long time....

The oil filter is the same as the XR250, 400, 650L, 650R. Easily available.

 

I wouldn't be too concerned with the spokes, if the rest of the bike is in good condition. Spokes can be replaced easily.

Am using K&N filter. Bought from ebay. Make sure to get the correct model.

 

Most dirt bike specialist shops will be able to help with the spokes. E.g. Holeshot, Sing Hong, Ideal, Hup Hin, Fastrak, Magic...

I am rebuilding my Domi RD 02 1994 model. Need a lot of info for aftermarket stuff. And any info for front n rear disc brakes? I saw Profactory front disc selling on ebay....any good? or just stick to the original? or brembo maybe??

I just brought myself a pair of Brembo Rotors (F&R)

What kind of pricing are U getting on Ebay??

 

I have a pair of stock exhaust as I converted to Full System.... so if U keen can get from em at a nominal fee keke...

Mine is a 99 Spain model. think should be universal eh??

I using iridium plug as well now...

How do u explain the stall?

Like bike fully warmed up already, idle speed already pretty high (1.5-1.6k rpm) but suddenly drop & went dead or??

Kindly advise there could be many factors involved...

I would usually look at ebay.de to find parts.

 

I haven't ordered the EGU dual exhausts yet as I got busy with life matters. I estimate total cost to be 669 Euros + S$250 for shipping + S$100 - 200 for licensing with LTA.

 

In the meantime I will order the oil cooler and ask my friend to hand carry back in the next 3 weeks.

If engine needs to be kept at 1500 RPM and above yet have sudden and random cut-offs, it is usually valve clearance and/or carburetor fault.

If engine idle is unsteady and hovers between 1200 - 1400 RPM, it is probably the coil.

 

No difference using iridium or normal spark plug from my own experience. You would gain better mileage and performance (up to 1 - 2km per litre) just by installing a Scottoiler and maintaining a well tuned chain, along with an annual valve clearance check and a quarterly carburetor cleaning.

I cannot say for certain, you would have to work on the process of elimination.

 

But from the description below, it would probably be the valve clearance problem (engine dead even at 1500 RPM idle, even with manual throttle control to 1800RPM)

 

CDI you would probably do best to check with your mechanic for voltage checking.

Hmm...

 

Combine Motors name ring again.

 

Was recommended to have them check it out since they are very proficient in Carb bikes...

 

So valve clearance & carb tuning est cost??
