it happened durin da fastin mth.. i parked illegally though.. but many other bikes park at dat spot too.. n der were no problems so far.. i was just havin a quick supper at da coffeshop rite in front of da carpark..

 

driver hit my bike as he was comin out of da car park.. other cars i see got no problem comin out as i`ve been parkin der a couple of times.. and other bikes too.. still.. he cud haf horned so dat i cud push my bike away.. reason i parked illegaly is dat der were limited bike parkin lots der n dey`re usually full.. so i juz parked in front of da coffeshop as i was sittin nearby.. but da driver did stopped.. gave me his contact no. .. but i asked fer cash on da spot as my bike got minor scratches n a broken mirror.. but he insisted dat i gif him a call as he was rushin..

 

so after i got my bike fixed (cover up scratches n replace mirror).. i called him up n asked fer SGD$30 to re-imburse fer my damages.. he agreed.. but den after countless calls of empty promises.. i tink he has discontinued usin da pre-paid card.. so is it still considered hit n run..? der were many witnessess der on dat fateful day.. but i didn`t take down his plate no. though as i was too kanchiong observin my bike for damages.. i only haf his unused hp no. .. so is it still possible to lodge a police report..? pls advice.. thanx in advance..

 

btw.. to me its not da purpose of gettin back or fightin for my 30 bux.. its just dat da driver needs to be taught a lesson dat he juz cudn`t get off or disappear just like dat.. wat kinda responsible driver is dat..? indirectly i was in da wrong for parkin illegally.. but dat doesn`t mean he has da rite to knock dwn my bike.. other bikes parked der illegally too but doesn`t get knocked dwn..

first u don't have his plate no. second if u want to claim him. u need to report to idac then hire for lawyer.

 

But then it not worth it cos u r going to claim just for the $30?and your case is not 100% win as u parked illegally.

Seriously it's not worth it to pursue the matter. I understand it's not about the 30 bucks but the evidence available is already not enough to pursue the case what more winning it.

 

Let me put it in another way:

Say you are lane splitting in a traffic jam and accidentaly knocked a car's mirror and broke it. You apologised but since you are in a hurry you drove off. And the driver only managed to get your plate's digits (w/o the alphabet) and the bike model. If u are in the driver's shoe what would you do....?

If seriously i`m at fault.. i`ll try to settle it a.s.a.p.. best on the spot privately.. itz been my principle.. no matter i`m rushin or wat.. one thing at a time.. if really i can`t settle it at dat point of time.. i leave my ic no. n contact no... datz da only way dat i can`t run..

 

luckily diz r minor damages.. wat if it happened to u..? u had cracked fairings.. wat wud u do..? my fairing cracked n fork had bad scratches.. a bent disc.. all i`m askin was a mere 30.. i`m also a driver.. got into situations dat i can`t park/get out of parkin lots due to obstructin bikes.. but i juz dun simply knock da bike down.. i also understand its sum1 hard earned money..

 

evidence wise.. i tink i got dat part lost.. but lets say.. if i ever patronised dat coffeshop n come across da driver.. cos i recognised his car is a champagne gold nissan sunny n he lives arnd dat area.. so wat shud i do..? or wat wud u do if u were in my shoes..? turn a blind eye..?

 

dun weri.. i`m open to comments.. i dun get offended easily.. cheers..!

Why don't u just try your luck at a police post? They might or might not entertain u but it's worth a try...

 

I mean, seriously, irresponsible acts such as this deserves to be reported.

in this case you don't even have a 50% / 50 % , what if he claim you back? it even more worst.you know when accident happened , people will ask workshop for advise.you never know they will do.they can scratch the car and say u knock him when this kind of thing happened,first should copy his ic , plate number and ask him to pay,if got cam take picture ard of the car and your bike
