Hi,

I just got a notice that ive been caught exceeding the speed limit on a 70kph road by 51-60 kph. Ive filled in my details and am waiting for a reply. It says i have been given 18 demerit points. Im a first time offender.

Does anyone know what im likely to get and what the process is?

- Is it likley just a fine?

- will i lose my licence, for how long?

-what is the process in court?

- when they mention jail sentences - is that for extreme cases only???

any advice appreciated - more worried about the jail but but from reading other posts it looks like its a heavy fine and possible loss of license?

thanks

pts + fine.

if you are p-plate, you will most likely lose your licence as you have less than 12 pts.

if first offence u go to court...fine shld be between 800 bucks to 2k so must prepare beforehand this sum so they dont put u in jail if u cant pay on the spot

....if u convert ur license for more than 12 mths..u shld have 24 pts so no gantung la....but not too sure if 18 pts demerit is a straight gantung though..

i ever accidentally riding unconsciously a bit fast along kje wic got speed limit of 90km/hr...got chased by tp...amazed they chase me...i tink 134km/hr they clock me...tts like 12 pts demerit...n i went to court a few mths later...got fined 800 bucks...n 12pts...n i jus passed my 2a....so my pts was 0points...still can ride though.....after 24 mths if ur record is clear...the tp will clear ur records so ul have back 24 pts...hope this helps...

anyways jus curious.....where was the location where they clock u bro?

I ride at 70km/hr only...please please dont blow2 at me or overtake me dangerously....wait i change into Incredible Hulk n dont know why my little baby bike will always be ahead of u if u do that

oh ya la. my bad. huahuahua.

There are 2 types: the handheld(no flash) and the stationary ones(equipped with flash)

The trick is spotting the pigs before being spotted. Noticing the flash is pointless cause sometimes it can even be meant for another road user or some idiots clicking on their cameras so as to pump up our anxiety levels.

stationery ones have flash also? i was snapped before and i had no idea i was snapped.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

Yp guys, i been clocked 104kmh along kje. Stationary camera on the bridge, confirmed no flash. eased off the pedal in time.Got a warning letter and let off the hook. That's lucky.
